  • Bobby Nichols-Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation 16 Years Ago, the Fiddlesticks Country Club Community Has Donated Over $10 Million to Local Children’S Charities
Dear Friend of the Foundation: Since the formation of the Bobby Nichols-Fiddlesticks Charity Foundation 16 years ago, the Fiddlesticks Country Club community has donated over $10 million to local children’s charities. The community is grateful to the individuals and businesses that have demonstrated a strong interest in Fiddlesticks’ efforts to raise funds in support of abused and at-risk children. The Foundation and the dedicated Piper organization have made a difference in the lives and well-being of children suffering from abuse and neglect and we could not do it without your support. We have seen government funding go down and the amount of children needing assistance go up. We know that our efforts are making a difference and so we continue our mission to fight for these children. Given our ongoing pledge to support the children in our community, we need your help. Included you will find sponsorship opportunities for our 17th annual charity events, including the Nichols Cup Golf Tournament and Auction on February 16-18, 2019. The PGA recognizes the Nichols Cup Golf Tournament as one of the most successful community-sponsored Pro Am’s in the United States. Numerous professionals and sports celebrities participate in the event taking the time to show their support for this important mission. Every donor matters just like every child matters. We ask that you strongly consider providing your support with a sponsorship commitment. The children and programs need you more than ever. We are in the midst of planning for the 2019 events and the charities are providing ongoing services to children who so desperately need our help.

It symbolizes the key to discovering the legendary lifestyle that The Club at La Costa has to offer its Members. Discover La Costa-discover the legend. Echoes from Our Past… The La Costa Legend Even before the idea for La Costa was realized, the resort was destined for greatness and heralded as “the ultimate international watering hole.” Nestled among the breathtaking Southern California Carlsbad foothills, the 400-acre estate abounds with both natural and manmade splendor. In the early years, La Costa offered Members, guests, and residents an unparalleled lifestyle complete with golf, tennis, spa, dining, pool, Saddle Club and riding trails, and an impressive social calendar. • 2004 PGA TOUR Media Guide / 1-1 Table of Contents
A Message to the Media n behalf of the players and staff, welcome to the 2004 PGA TOUR season. We appreciate your continued interest in our sport, and we clearly recognize the extent to which our success is tied to the thorough and professional coverage we receive from a Owide variety of global media outlets. As the PGA TOUR begins another great season, we can truly state that the image and competitive spirit of our players has led to the healthiest state in the history of our organization. The Sports Business Journal recently reaffirmed this when it published the “2003 League Report Card,” a survey of corporate sponsors’ opinions of their investment in sports properties. The PGA TOUR ranked first in overall satisfaction among the 16 major sports. This is important as we continue to raise the exposure of our tournaments, provide significant value to our sponsors and showcase the widespread excellence of our athletes. The competition level on the PGA TOUR in 2003 was at an all-time high, with season-ending honors going down to the wire. Tiger Woods recorded a season-high five victories and the lowest stroke average on TOUR and garnered a fifth consecutive Player of the Year honor. Vijay Singh won four times and captured his first money title. Davis Love III won a career-high four times, includ- ing THE PLAYERS Championship, making 2003 the first time in 30 years where three players won four or more times in a season. However, the depth of the TOUR was never more evident. Eleven players age 40 or older combined to capture 15 PGA TOUR titles.

TOMMY AARON (USA) 1937 - Aaron is best known for winning the 1973 Masters. He is also known for an error in the 1968 Masters, when he entered a 4 instead of a 3 on Roberto De Vicenzo’s scorecard, which kept De Vicenzo out of a playoff for the championship. GEORGE ARCHER (USA) 1939 – 2005 Archer won 13 events on the PGA Tour, including the 1969 Masters, and at 6 ft. 5½ in. he is the tallest ever golfer to win a major.
