‘The Riverwood Forest Retreat- Dooars’ would like to welcome you on a journey to the land of the tea, and trekking. The name Dooars (Doors) is derived from the several passes that lead from the region into the Lesser Himalayas.

Day 1 ROUTE MAP Morning Siliguri//NJP to Resort • Pickup from Siliguri (Hotel/Airport/Railway Station) and travel by road to The Riverwood Forest Retreat-Dooars.

Afternoon

• Refreshments will be served upon arrival. Check-in to the room, followed by Lunch.

Evening

• Visit to the nearby village to understand the local culture and see the way of life for the locals. Enjoy an Adibasi dance performance during your visit. • Enjoy a hot dinner at ‘The Hideaway’ in house restaurant. • Guests have the option of enjoying a drink at the Hornbill Bar or retire for the night.

• Breakfast at the resort. • Visit Samsing and Suntaleykhola - the regions are renowned for being home to a variety of species as well as their orange orchards and tea gardens and hanging bridge. • Return to the resort for lunch.

Afternoon

• Lunch will be served at ‘The Hideaway’ the in-house restaurant. • Embark on an afternoon Jungle safari in Gorumara National Park to view some of the wildlife inhabiting the region - One-horned , Elephant, (Indian Bison) as well as a variety of endemic and migratory . Evening

• Return to the resort post the jungle safari. • Enjoy a hot dinner in the dining hall. • Guests have the option of enjoying a drink at the Hornbill Bar or retire for the night.

Day 3 Morning • Enjoy a hot cup of tea before departing for the morning safari in the ‘Gorumara National Park’. • Drive through the park in a jeep with a stop at the watchtower to view the different species of wildlife that visit the sweet water pond. • Upon returning to the resort, guests can have an early breakfast prior to departing for their next destination (Hotel/Airport/Railway Station).

PROOF OF IDENTITY -Foreign National Guests: Need to carry Original Passport and Visa for Forest Permission. -Indian National Guests: Need to carry Original Government approved Identity Card (Driving License/Aadhar Card/Passport/Voters ID card) of each and every residing guests, including children. The same has to be submitted at the time of check-in. Please note that Pan Card will NOT be accepted as a proof of identity. SAFARIS For Current Safari, Entry Charges send us an email and we will revert with the current charges. It is important to note that bookings are open 20 days in advance. Safari confirmation is subject to availability. -Resort does not guarantee safari in specific zones; safaris will be booked as per availability. -Changes in Safari bookings are not applicable. New tickets can be issues depending on the availability. -Naturalists must be pre-booked, if required. Cost for the same is Rs.2000/- per safari/excursion/per vehicle. -Please note that Jeep Safaris are closed on Wednesday. Watch Towers are closed on Thursday.

TRAVEL INSURANCE We recommend that our guests travelling to India shall purchase a Comprehensive travel insurance to cover theft, loss and medical problems (as well as air evacuation), and it is being strongly recommended. Some policies exclude potentially dangerous activities such as scuba diving, cruise, skiing, motorcycling, paragliding and even trekking; read the fine print and purchase one you may deem necessary for your travel. The management or any office employee(s) or any office staff(s) of the resort shall not taking any responsibility or liability during the participation of any activity.

STANDARD NO SHOW POLICY No refund is applicable for no show.

CANCELLATION POLICY -Cancellation made by 25 days or ahead will be charged 50% retention. Cancellation made after that will attract 100% retention (no refund). -No refund is applicable for no show. -No refund for unused nights or early checkout. -No refund for cancellation on booking from 15 December - 15 January -In case the guest has an International bank account, and then any bank charges applicable are to be borne by the customer. We will remit the amount as per our cancellation policy. -Prior to confirming all bookings, we request all guests to please go through our “TERMS and CONDITIONS”, and “Proof of Identity” at the top. -Amendment in dates will be treated as a cancellation. -Cancellation Amount is calculated as per total booking amount and not as per advance deposited. -Long weekend bookings like New Year, Christmas, Holi and Diwali are non-refundable. No cancellation charges shall be refunded to any traveller/s in case the booking is cancelled by any of the sides due to Act of God or force majeure, act of war, insurrection, revolt, terrorism, government restrictions and regulations, civil uprisings or unrest or revolt or disturbances, military action, strikes unnatural weather, thefts, pilferage and/or epidemic and pandemic.

OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES -The management or staffs or employees of The Riverwood Forest Retreat-Dooars shall not be held responsible or liable to the travellers for any affect due to Act of God or force majeure, act of war, insurrection, revolt, terrorism, government restrictions and regulations, civil uprisings or unrest or revolt or disturbances, military action, strikes, unnatural weather, thefts, pilferage and/or epidemic and pandemic.

REFUND POLICY -In case of any cancellation, refund takes minimum 15-20 working days for the refund to be processed and to get credited in the guests’ bank, subject to the conditions mentioned above. -In case of refund, bank transactions will be deducted above cancellation charges. -In case of credit card transactions, refund will be done only to the same credit card.

CREDIT CARD BOOKINGS In order to avoid credit card frauds, guests are requested to note the following: In case the booking is made using credit card, guests are requested to carry the following documents at the time of Check In: -If the Credit card holder is the guest or one of the guests, then the credit card will have to be produced at the time of Check In. -If the Credit Card holder is not one of the guests, then a copy of the credit card (both front and back), self-attested by the credit card holder should be produced at the time of Check-In. In addition to this, it is also required to produce a letter, signed by the credit 5 www.waxpolhotels.com card holder, authorizing the use of the credit card for the booking of the room. The letter should mention the names of the guests, date of travel, property and room type. This letter, along with the self-attested copy of the credit card will have to be submitted at Check In desk. At the time of submitting the credit card copy, please ensure that the CVV number on it is blacked out. (CVV Number is a three-digit number at the reverse side of the credit card, at the end of the signature panel). In case the guests do not produce the above documents, Hotel reserves the right to deny the reservation. In such case no refund (except for the taxes) will be given to the guest. In case of erroneous/inadequate /misleading information given while booking, Hotel reserves the right to cancel the booking without any intimation.

HAZARDOUS GOODS Bringing goods and/or storing of raw or exposed cinema films or any other article of a combustible or hazardous nature and/or prohibited goods and /or goods of objectionable nature is prohibited. The guest shall be solely liable and responsible to the management, its other guests, invitees, visitors, agents and servants for all loss financial or otherwise and damage that maybe caused by such articles or as a result of the guests’ own negligence and non-observance of any instructions. Gambling, contraband, prostitution, weapons, explosives, flammable objects, poisons, drugs, animals and pungent food are strictly prohibited on hotel premises.

RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE RESORT 1. By booking/making reservation of the tour the guest agrees to comply with all the rules and regulations of the resort. 2. In order to make the tour most enjoyable and for the safety and security of all concerned it is Mandatory for each and every Tourist/Guest to abide by the following Rules and Regulations. During the tour the tourist (s) are requested not to create any nuisance such as to disturb, irritate or annoy the other tourist (s) and will cooperate fully with the Riverwood Forest Retreat, Dooars staff in order to maintain peace and harmony. 3. Consumption of Alcohol drinks is allowed only at the specified areas. 4. It will be the sole responsibility of the tourist(s) to take care of their children during the entire tour. 5. In case of any accident and/or unseemly incident, the Riverwood Forest Retreat, Dooars or its staff members cannot be held responsible. 6. Neither the tourist(s) nor any other person shall have the right of action claim, whatsoever against the Riverwood Forest Retreat, Dooars or its staff members in respect of any injury whether fatal or otherwise. 7. The Riverwood Forest Retreat, Dooars or its staff members will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the tourist (s) and/his property, howsoever/whatsoever caused. 11. For the Safety and Security of the tourist (s) and the staff members, the Riverwood Forest Retreat, Dooars reserves the right and may be compelled to debar tourist (s) from any tour during its pendency. This clause shall also be applicable to those tourist (s) who fail to comply with any of the foregoing rules and regulations. 12. It is compulsory for all guests to produce a valid government approved identity card for checking in into the Riverwood Forest Retreat, Dooars, absence of identity card for any individual may result in barring them entry into the resort. In such case they will have to organize their transfer back to Kolkata at an additional cost, which will not be covered by the resort. Kindly see “Proof of Identity” for what documents are allowed. 13. In case of any unsolicited fault of the vehicle substitute vehicle arranged may not be qualitatively similar.

GUESTS BELONGINGS The management will not in any way whatsoever be responsible for any loss/or damage to Guest’s belongings or any other property. It is further to mention that in the case of any damage or loss of belongings of any guest/s due to theft and /or fire, the resort authority or any of its members and staffs shall not be held responsible.

LEFT LUGGAGE If left luggage is found, then the courier charges for sending the material across will be applicable.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY The guest/s shall be held responsible for any loss or damage to the hotel property caused by themselves, their guests or any person for whom they are responsible. 6 www.waxpolhotels.com AWARENESS OF RISK -The traveller/s must be aware of any sorts of risk in a tour.

INDEMNIFICATION The Riverwood Forest Retreat-Dooars shall not indemnify any traveller/s in any nature whatsoever for any loss or damage during the tour.
