Page 2 CONTAINER LIST Volyn Oblast Commission on calculation of damages inflicted by German-Fascists occupiers to state economy and population was active from the beginning of liberation of the oblast approximately from April 1944. It ceased its activities in February 1945. Subject to the Oblast commission were local district commissions which in turn directed activities of commissions created in cities, towns and village Councils. The exact date of entry of documents into oblast archives is not established. The first technical work on the Fond was conducted in 1948 (see act of 17.02.48). Headings on files are mainly imprecise and dates are not indicated. Systematization of files in the Opis by districts is not upheld. The Fund is composed of statements, accounts of damages to regional and village committees, kolkhozes (collective farms), institutions and organizations, and local residents. Statements are filled out for the most part with ink on blank forms. They are signed by the President and two members of the Commission, and certified by signatures of President and stamp of secretary of regional committee. It includes summaries by districts, absent statements on Lokachinsky, Ratnovsky and Sedlishchansky districts. In 1976 there was an active oblast commission to determine population points destroyed during the years of the Great Patriotic War. Documents on its work are formulated in Opis No. 2. Files in the opis are arranged in alphabetical order by names of districts. In 1980 Opis No. 1 was edited to include headings which describe fully the contents of documents, and dates. In cases where dates are absent, they are approximated and are indicated by / /. Files in the opis were not resystematized. A forward and a geographic index to the opis were prepared. Page 3 1.
