  • Encore Songlist
west coast music Encore Please find attached the Encore Band song list for your review. SPECIAL DANCES for Weddings: Please note that we will need to have your special dance requests, (I.E. First Dance, F/D Dance, etc) FOUR WEEKS prior to your event so that we can confirm the band will be able to perform the song(s) and so that we have time to locate sheet music and audio of the song(s). In some cases where sheet music is not available or an arrangement for the full band is needed, this gives us time to properly prepare the music. Clients are not obligated to submit a list of general song requests. Many of our clients ask that the band just react to whatever their guests are responding to on the dance floor. Our clients that do provide us with song requests do so in varying degrees. Most clients give us a handful of songs they want played and/or avoided. If you desire the highest degree of control (asking the band to only play within the margin of songs requested), we would ask for a minimum 80 requests from the band’s songlist. Please feel free to call us at the office should you have any questions. – West Coast Music SONGLIST: At Last – Etta James 1,2,3,4 – Plain White T’s Baby Got Back – Sir Mix A Lot 24K Magic – Bruno Mars Back at One – Boyz II Men A Thousand Years – Christina Bad Day – Daniel Powter Perri Ballad Of John & Yoko Ain’t too Proud to Beg – Bamboleo – Gipsy Kings Temptations Bang my Head – David Guetta/Sia Adventure of a Lifetime – Beast of Burden – Rolling Stones Coldplay Beautiful Day – U2 After All – Peter Cetera/Cher

  • ASCAP/BMI Comment
November 20, 2015 Chief, litigation Ill Section Antitrust Division U.S. Department of Justice 450 s'h Street NW, Suite 4000 Washington, DC 20001 Re: Justice Department Review of the BMI and ASCAP Consent Decrees To the Chief of the litigation Ill Section: My name is John Oates and I am a songwriter living in Nashville and Colorado. My partner Daryl Hall ( Hall&Oates) and I have been an affiliate of BMI for over 40 years and I truly value the service and support BMI has provided me throughout my career. I write today in response to the Justice Department's request for public comments on the issue of whether BMI and ASCAP's consent decrees mandate music licensing on a 100% basis, rather than the long-established industry practice of fractionally licensing jointly-owned songs. It's vital that my voice is heard, because if 100% licensing were required it would severely impact my creative freedom, my ability to choose which PRO licenses my music, and ultimately, my livelihood as a songwriter. Beyond my career, these ramifications would profoundly affect songwriters across our nation. My profession is writing songs, making me part of America's smallest small business. Throughout my career of over 20 top 40 singles and 10 number one records, ( Maneater, You Make My Dreams Come True, She's Gone, Sara Smile, I Can't Go For That, Out Of Touch, Rich Girl) BMI my carefully chosen PRO, was with me from the start, looking out for my rights and providing a stable source of income. I am loyal to BMI because of the trusted relationships I have there, and, essentially, I like the way they value my music and fight for all writers to get fees that reflect the fair value of our creative work.

  • Daryl Hall & John Oates
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 19, 2010 RIVER ROCK CASINO RESORT PRESENTS DARYL HALL & JOHN OATES LIVE AT THE RIVER ROCK SHOW THEATRE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 Richmond, BC – Daryl Hall and John Oates started working together in the early 70’s and went on to become one of the most successful duos in rock history. Meeting in a freight elevator while escaping a riot at the Aldephi Ballroom in Philadelphia during the club’s legendary Battle of the Bands, Daryl and John would join forces to become the pioneers of Rock & Soul. With over 60 million albums sold, their rich repertoire has garnered a total of eight #1 hit singles along with dozens of hits throughout the past four decades including “Sara Smile,” “Rich Girl,” “Kiss On My List,” “Private Eyes,” “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do),” “Maneater,” “One On One” and “Out Of Touch.” Their trademark sound can be heard in the harmonies of today’s young pop stars, in the return to radio of sophisticated R&B and even in the demographics of hip-hop and rap-rock fusion. In 1997, realizing the direction that the music industry was headed, Daryl and John released Marigold Sky on their own label. Taking a break to work on solo projects, they would not record and release new material until 2002’s critically acclaimed Do It for Love. The album’s title song went to #1 on the Billboard and R&R’s Adult Contemporary charts and remained there for four consecutive weeks. Their 2004 album, Our Kind Of Soul featured timeless classics as well as new material that they borrowed from their Philadelphia roots.
