Now picture your name in flashing lights outside some of the biggest and most well-known theatres in the world as you sell out comedy shows night after night. This is the reality of Natasha’s life and how humble beginnings can lead to an extraordinary endings. (more) 1 The Life and Times of Natasha Leggero From an early age she was never really into comedy. She was a child actor, not a child star, but a thespian. Leggero loved to act and was in many of her high school plays in Rockford, Illinois. As quickly as she graduated she moved even quicker to New York City to go to Hunter College and get her degree in theatre criticism. She began reviewing plays after she graduated but that was not cutting it for her so she moved to Los Angeles. In an interview with Comedy Central, Leggero exclaimed, “I just got onstage one night and I just was really talking about what I thought about Los Angeles. I didn’t really think people would laugh or I didn’t even know what a comedian really was.

  • Josh Blue Opens up About Cerebral Palsy, 'Last Comic Standing'
Cue THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2015 SECTION C Audra McDonald Saturday, October 17th, 8:00 pm TICKETS START AT $40 309.671.1096 peoriasymphony.org PE-4493521_V2 Josh Blue opens up about cerebral palsy, ‘Last Comic Standing’ BY THOMAS BRUCH OF THE JOURNAL STAR PEORIA — One of the best stand-up comedians in the business, Josh Blue, will be performing at the Jukebox Comedy Club this weekend. Blue, 36, won Season Four of “Last Comic Standing” in 2006 and has since been a staple on the stand-up comedy circuit. Though he has earned many plaudits and has been featured frequently in stand-up specials, he might be best known for having cerebral palsy — something he pokes fun at in a self-deprecating manner in his performances. Yet he also talks about it to highlight what you can accomplish while living with the disorder. Blue will appear at the Jukebox at 8 p.m. Thursday, and at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets cost $20 except for the Thursday show and the late Friday show, which are $15. Tickets can be purchased at the comedy club or online at www.jukeboxcomedy.com. The Journal Star talked to Blue recently about his career, “Last Comic Standing” and another one of his successful endeavors. Q: In retrospect, what’s your opinion on “Last Comic Standing” for younger comedians or comedi- ans who haven’t gotten a shot yet? A: I have mixed feelings about it. Obviously it really helped me blow into the scene. But it’s still a dumb reality show.

  • Celebrating Uncommon Courage
th Celebrating5 Annual Gala Uncommon Courage Hollywood, CA | March 28, 2018 Hosted by Lauren Ash Mission The California Fire Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, aids fallen firefighter families, firefighters and the communities they protect. Owned and operated by California Professional Firefighters (California Lou Paulson Professional Firefighters is the largest Chair of California Fire Foundation statewide organization dedicated exclusively President of California Professional Firefighters Over 30 years in the Fire Service to serving the needs of career firefighters), the California Fire Foundation’s mandate includes an array of survivor and victim assistance projects and community initiatives. Note from the Chair As a former career firefighter, I have experienced the shattering loss of comrades on the frontlines, and seen countless tragedies affecting the people and communities of this great state that I love. Not too long ago, we could expect fire season to last a couple of months, however the “new normal” we have come to endure is a year-long fire season. California’s ongoing drought has greatly exacerbated this compound threat to public safety, creating a deadly mix of hotter, more intense and more unpredictable fires. This current state of affairs has severely heightened the risk of life, limb and property of our citizens and our first responders. When tragedy strikes, whether it’s a fallen firefighter’s family at home or the station that are left behind, or the victims of fire and natural disaster that are left in peril, it is my priority, as Chair of the California Fire Foundation, to assist those impacted. We are there at every step, providing aid to our first responders, families of the fallen, and victims of devastating loss.

HGTV SPOTLIGHTS COMEDIANS AND THEIR HOUSE-HUNTING COMMENTARY IN NEW JUNE SERIES ‘HOUSE HUNTERS: COMEDIANS ON COUCHES’ New York [May 18, 2020] Fans who miss televised live events and the pithy professional commentary that comes with them can now look to HGTV to fill that void with its new, highly anticipated series House Hunters: Comedians on Couches (fka House Hunters: LOL). In a four- night, star-studded special event at 10 and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT from Tuesday, June 2, through Friday, June 5, America’s favorite contactless past time—watching and commenting on House Hunters—gets a fun new twist when seven popular comedians deliver hilarious, no holds barred, color commentary on classic episodes of the hit series. Together via videoconference, the entertainers will call out the victories and agonizing defeats caused by paint colors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and open concept spaces. The House Hunters: Comedians on Couches celebrity lineup is led by Dan Levy and Natasha Leggero and features their comedian friends Whitney Cummings, Eliot Glazer, John Mulaney, Chris Redd and J.B. Smoove. “House Hunters is a pop culture phenomenon that inspires strong reactions from viewers who like to play along with its familiar house selection process,” said Jane Latman, president, HGTV. “While we may not agree with the house each family chooses or the reasons they select it, we can agree that it’s a good time to lean on talented people who can find the humor in everything and make us laugh out loud—even when it comes to the challenges and triumphs of house hunting.” And, the comedic fun on the couch supports a good cause.
