HIGHLAND PARK PUBLIC SCHOOLS HIGHLAND PARK, NEW JERSEY MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Highland Park School District is to provide the community with the finest educational services through respect for diversity and commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and achievement of excellence. The Highland Park Board of Education will hold a REGULAR PUBLIC MEETING on Monday, September 19, 2016, at 6:30 p.m., at the Middle School, 330 Wayne Street, Highland Park, New Jersey. This meeting will be broadcast live on hpschools.net and youtube.com. AGENDA: 1. Call to Order 2. Announcement of Notice The New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act was enacted to ensure the right of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meetings of the public bodies at which any business affecting their interest is discussed or acted upon. In compliance with the Open Public Meeting Act, the Highland Park Board of Education has caused notice of this meeting setting forth the time, date, and location to be submitted for publication to the Home News Tribune and Star Ledger and posted on the Board’s website at least 48 hours in advance of this meeting. Members of the public who wish to address the Board will be given the opportunity to do so before the Board adjourns for the evening. 3. Roll Call 4. Recess to Executive Session Be It Resolved, pursuant to the Sunshine Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-12 and 13, the Highland Park Board of Education will now meet in closed session to discuss litigation. This exemption is permitted to be discussed in closed session in accordance with N.J.S.A. 10:4-13. Approval of Field Trip Requests I move that the Board of Education accept the recommendation of the Superintendent to approve the field trips, as per the attached. 2. Approval of Bi-Lateral Exchange Program I move that the Board of Education accept the recommendation of the Superintendent to approve an agreement to encourage international education and cooperation between China and the United States to better understand both countries' educational system. It is agreed that All Americas, Inc., Aunt Elsie’s Homestays and the Highland Park School District have the intention to collaborate on an international educational exchange program at no cost to the district. 3. Approval of Online PAR.net Software Subscription I move that the Board of Education accept the recommendation of the Superintendent to approve the annual subscription of the Online PAR.net software service from Red-e-Set Grow for kindergarten, first and second grade students in the district. 4. The workshop will be presented by Mary Oates at a cost of $600.00 to be paid through ESSA Title IIA funds.
