Pernod Ricard Takes Minority Stake in U.S. Based Sovereign Brands, Innovative Creators of Luc Belaire, Bumbu and Other Brands
Press Release – 1st September 2021 Pernod Ricard takes minority stake in U.S. based Sovereign Brands, innovative creators of Luc Belaire, Bumbu and other brands Pernod Ricard is delighted to announce the signing of a minority stake investment in Sovereign Brands and its portfolio of fast-growing super premium wine and spirits brands. Sovereign Brands is a family company founded by brothers Brett and Brian Berish, who are among the industry’s most innovative and creative builders of beverage brands, with a proven history of brand creation. Since 2000, Sovereign Brands has built a unique portfolio of forward-thinking brands in their respective categories across the world and especially in the world’s leading market, the USA. Sovereign’s most emblematic successes include Luc Belaire, a French sparkling wine, and Bumbu, a range of rum products from the Caribbean. Brazilian gin McQueen and the Violet Fog and Villon, an exquisite French liqueur, are also part of Sovereign’s diverse portfolio. The two groups will continue to operate independently as the agreement does not provide for changes in Sovereign’s day-to-day operations, management, or distributor network. This investment is a first step of a long term partnership aimed at creating business opportunities between Sovereign Brands and Pernod Ricard in the future, such as exploring potential common industrial and commercial projects. “Sovereign Brands has demonstrated exceptional innovation and marketing skills. We are thrilled to partner with Brett and Brian Berish, two of the most innovative entrepreneurs of our industry” says Alexandre Ricard, CEO of Pernod Ricard. Brett Berish, CEO of Sovereign Brands, stated : “Pernod Ricard is at the forefront of our industry for a reason: they are simply the best. -

Scotch-Whisky-Menu.Pdf
This book lists over 500 expressions of fine Scotch whiskies collected from each of our whisky regions: Speyside, the Highlands, the Lowlands, Islay, Campbeltown and the Islands. A wide diversity of flavours to suit every palate and every time of the day or night! Such a large selection – one of the largest in Scotland – may appear somewhat daunting, but part of the pleasure is browsing through the list, then comparing the tasting notes with what you yourself find in each whisky. The knowledgeable bar staff are ‘whisky ambassadors’, here to help and advise you, whether you are a connoisseur of the ‘golden nectar’ or just beginning your journey of discovery. I recommend you order two or three different drams; nose and taste them – remember ‘flavour’ is a combination of smell and taste, and of the two, smell is most important in appreciating the qualities of any whisky. Discuss the characteristics of each; seek further recommendations from the staff; explore and enjoy! Malt whisky is the quintessence of Scotland. It recollects the land of its birth with every sip – peat hags and bog myrtle, the sun on the loch, fine rain on the mountain, white beaches and salt spray: the fugitive aromas of the land itself. It also speaks of the people of Scotland, the tough farmers who developed the art of distillation, the intrepid smugglers who kept the still fires burning in the face of the law, the remarkable entrepreneurs who built a world market for Scotch in the later decades of the nineteenth century. A Craft Cocktail Bar Cheers!
A CRAFT COCKTAIL BAR It was a well-known fact from the early 1900s onward that wherever Sidney McDougall was host, the drinks flowed freely and spirits were high. And for several years, right up to the end of Prohibition, Sidney was a most congenial host and manager of this den-like space, today’s McMenamins Rams Head Pub. Here, Sidney made sure that the Dry Years were not at all dry. In fact, her renowned restaurant quickly became known as one of the busiest “blind pigs” in all of Portland. She earned a reputation for excellent cooking, but it was the illicit elixir she served up in elegant teacups that made her the toast of the town. Sidney’s nephew, Dick Randall, recalled that it was an Italian gardener in a Model T pickup truck who supplied the restaurant with the high-demand article. “The old boy would bring vegetables here to the kitchen, but under those boxes were the boxes of booze!” The celebrants who regularly gathered were a real cross-section of Portland’s populace — from the city’s elite to those of more modest means. That’s how Sidney liked it. McMenamins artists creatively illustrated the point in their panels depicting the McDougall era at the Rams Head by featuring historical characters of all walks and stripes from McMenamins other Northwest Portland locations, including the prim Lola Baldwin from the Crystal Ballroom, the majestic former slave Joe Wisdom of the Blue Moon, to well-seasoned saloon man Fred Gansneder of the Tavern and Pool. With the advent of Repeal in 1933, Sidney’s spirited party moved on, relocating to the less-conspicuous but even more raucous Tillicum Tavern, way out on the west side.
