Email: [email protected] Abstract This study focuses on faculty member’s research productivity in State Universities of Tamil Nadu. The faculty member’s details were collected from 8 State Universities such as Alagappa University, Annamalai University, Bharathiar University, Bharathidasan University, Madurai Kamaraj University, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Periyar University and University of Madras. The Research productivity data were collected from Web of Science Database. It is found that total 1949 faculty members in different positions are available in State Universities of Tamil Nadu. It is also found that Annamalai University has highest number (654) of faculty members when compared to other universities. It is further analyzed that Annamalai University has published 3375 publications from Web of Science database by the present faculty members. -

District Statistical Hand book of Dharmapuri District for the year 2019-2020 presents the test Statistical data on Population, Agriculture, Prices, Education, Co-operation, Transport, Electricity, Banking, Local Bodies, Medical Services, Vital Statistics etc. It has been prepared by this office in accordance with the instructions given by the Department of Economics and Statistics, Chennai-6. Dharmapuri District Collector has shown enormous interest in guiding us to collect the data from various Departments to improve its quality in different dimensions. It is hoped that this Book will surely be useful for reference purpose in various fields. The co-operation extended by various Head of Offices, Public and Private Sector undertakings for the preparation of this Handbook is gratefully acknowledged. Dharmapuri District was bifurcated from the erstwhile Salem District and Dharmapuri District came into existence from 2nd October, 1965, consisting of Hosur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri and Harur Taluks. Subsequently, Dharmapuri District was again bifurcated into two districts viz., Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri on 9-2-2004 due to administrative reasons, more number of villages and vast area. LOCATION AND AREA After the bifurcation of Krishnagiri District from Dharmapuri District, the present Dharmapuri District is located approximately between 11o 47” and 12o33” of the North Latitude and between 77o 02” and 78o. 40’30” of east longitude. The total geographical area of the district is 4497 Sq.kms. -

PERIYAR UNIVERSITY SALEM - 636 011, TAMIL NADU, INDIA NAAC A Grade – State University – NIRF Rank 83 PROSPECTUS AND APPLICATION DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION B.Ed., PART- TIME PROGRAMME (3 Years) PROFILE The Government of Tamil Nadu established the Periyar University at Salem on 17th September 1997 as per the provisions of the Periyar University Act, 1997. The University covers the area comprising of four districts namely Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri. The University Grants Commission bestowed 12 (B) and 2f status to the Periyar University. NAAC reaccredited the University with „A‟ Grade in 2015. The University bagged 83rd rank among Indian Universities by MHRD NIRF 2020. The University is named after the Great Social Reformer Thiru E.V. Ramasamy, affectionally called „Thanthai Periyar‟. The University aims at developing knowledge in various fields to realize the maxim inscribed in the logo “Arival Vilaiyum Ulagu”(Wisdom Maketh the World). “Holistic development of the students” is the primary objective of the esteemed Periyar University. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Department of Education was started in the year 2005 with the approval of UGC and SRC-NCTE. The department offers M.Ed. Programme which was recognized by National Council for Teacher Education-Southern Regional Committee (F.SRO/NCTE/2006-2007/11863-APSO 4603) and B.Ed. Part Time Programme (SRO/NCTE/SRCAPP3427/B.Ed., Part-Time/TN/2016-17/80978 dated 02/02/2016. The Department also offers M.Ed., M.Phil.(FT/PT/Week-end) and Ph.D. (FT/PT) programmes and it has three fold functions viz., Teaching, Research and Extension activities. The Department library is equipped with more than 4000 books on different titles on education along with e-books, journals, magazines and dailies.
