SAN JOSE SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Wild’s 2020-21 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season schedule, presented By Associated Bank, was released today. The Wild opens its 20th season in the NHL on the road for the sixth straight campaign, beginning in Los Angeles on Thursday, Jan. 14, the first of four road games – the longest road trip to start a season in team history. The Wild returns to Saint Paul for its home opener on Friday, Jan. 22, hosting the San Jose Sharks at Xcel Energy Center. The 2020-21 NHL regular-season schedule will consist of 56 games Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 13 and concluding on May 8. The Stanley Cup Playoffs will feature 16 teams in the traditional Best-of-seVen, four-round format and conclude in mid-July. For the 2020-21 season, teams will be divisionally re-aligned into the Central, East, North and West. The Wild will play in the West DiVision with Anaheim, Arizona, Colorado, Los Angeles, San Jose, St. Louis and Vegas. Each team in the East, Central and West diVisions will play every other team in its division eight times while each team in the North Division will play every other team in its division nine or 10 times. The decision was made by the League’s, NHLPA’s and Club’s medical groups. A total of eight Canucks games have been postponed – March 31 through April 14. The League has rescheduled those games with the team’s 56-game schedule now ending on Sunday, May 16. The Canucks’ organization has, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines aimed at protecting the health and safety of its Players, staff and community at large as set by the NHL, local, provincial and federal agencies.
