Full western dress must be worn by all competitors as per the ABCRA rule book and the Show Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.
These events will be conducted under the rules of the ABCRA and on the understanding that competitors agree to compete at their own risk and to indemnify and keep indemnified the Society against all claims, suits, actions or demands which may be brought against it in respect of any injuries or other loss sustained by the competitor in the course of competing in any events- and agree to exonerate the Committee from all responsibility and from all loss or injury whether due to alleged negligence or otherwise.

Horse Section Regulations: All competition at this show is governed by these regulations and by the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Rules for Discipline in Horse Sections at Shows which can be viewed at www.agshowsnsw.org.au. Should it become necessary for the ASC Disciplinary Committee to open an inquiry into any aspect of competition in this Horse Section, this Society will support any penalty imposed by that Committee as a result of the inquiry and will support penalties resulting from enquiries arising from Horse Sections at other NSW Shows. Indemnity & Waiver Forms: The Horse Committee will take all care in managing the section, but competitors taking part in this Horse Section do so at their own risk. Each adult competitor must, before competing, complete and sign a form indemnifying the Nowra Show Society and waiving any claims against the Society for any injury sustained in competition or for loss or damage to the competitor’s property or damage caused by the competitor or his/her animal(s) at the Show. A similar form must also be completed and signed by a parent or guardian for each competitor who is under 18yrs of age. ALSO on each Waiver, each horse with which the competitor is involved in competition at the Show must be listed together with the Property Identification Code (PIC) of the property from which the horse came to the show. Refusal of Entry/Alteration of Schedule: The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without assigning any reason for doing so and to alter the schedule to meet emerging circumstances. Judges Decision/Discretion: The judge is empowered to withhold any or all prizes in any class where the exhibits are, in his/her opinion, unworthy of the prize and at all times the judge’s decision will be final. A judge has the discretion to ask that a led or performance exhibit and handler/rider/driver be ordered to leave the ring if he/she considers the animal is unruly and/or likely to cause an accident. Novice Hack, Galloway, and Pony: A Novice has not won a First Place at any show and should be ridden in a snaffle bit. Show Hunters: Horses in these classes may not also compete in Ridden Hack, Galloway or Pony classes. Ridden Hack, Galloway Pony: Horses in these classes may not compete in Show Hunter classes.
Stallions: Stallions must be wearing a bit at all times when being led and must be under the control a person 17yrs of age or older. They must be supervised at all times and securely fastened when tied to the outside of a truck or float. They are not eligible to compete in ridden classes unless their eligibility is specifically stated in the schedule. Ponies with Adult Riders: Ponies may be ridden by adults unless otherwise stated in the schedule. Leaving the Ring: If a led horse should drag or escape its handler or a ridden or driven horse take control of or unseat its rider and leave the ring, it is usually disqualified from the class. Breed Registration: Registration documents for horses in breed classes must be produced when required by a Steward. Exhibits to be shown as per the regulations of the relevant Breed Society. Attire: Competitors must be appropriately attired for the competition in which they are competing. Helmets: Every rider must wear a safety helmet compliant with the current Australian Standard. Riders under 18yrs must wear such a helmet. Footwear: All competitors must wear appropriate footwear when leading or riding a horse. When riding, the footwear must enable removal of the foot from the stirrup. Cruelty: Persons who are considered by the Ring Master or Chief Steward to be abusive or cruel to a horse will be expelled from the ground. No horse will be permitted to compete if, in the opinion of the Ringmaster or Chief Steward, it is in poor health or condition. Drugs: Drug testing may be carried out at this show. Approaching Judges: No exhibitor or associate will initiate conversation with a judge on judging day, before, during or after judging except through the Ring Master or Steward. Prohibited Relationship: No competitor will present for judging before a judge with whom he/she has a family relationship, has or has recently had a personal relationship or has had horse related business dealings during the past twelve months. No animal that has been bred or produced by the judge can be shown before that judge. Coaching: Any person detected coaching a competitor while that competitor is being judged may be removed from the showground. Proper Conduct: Any exhibitor or associate who behaves offensively on the showground will be expelled from the ground, may be banned from the show in future and may be banned by other Societies. Entries: All Entries in horse events, excepting Show Jumping Events, (see Show jumping Program) are to be by purchase of tickets on Show Days. Entry Fee $4.00 (except where otherwise stated) and ribbons placed to third. For confirmation of Judges in rings please check Nowra Show Website Sporting entries will only be accepted between 10am and 12pm on the Friday of the show, no entries will be taken in the ring. Show jumping: Assessment card is to be produced for show jumping competitors. All Show Jumping events will be conducted under F.E.I. (Federation Equestrian International) Rules. To compete in all official Show Jumping classes, all horses must be registered with E.A. A show jumping competitor is classed as a Junior until 31st December in the year of turning 18yrs. Young Rider classes are open to riders in the year of turning 16yrs through to the end of the year of turning 21yrs. Any competitor found to have breached the ASC disputes and disciplinary regulations will be investigated by the ASC Disciplinary Committee Sporting: Events to be run in accordance with Sporting Horse Australia rules and regulations as outlined at this link: www.sportinghorseaustralia.org/ Centre Ring: Only competitors, handlers and officials are permitted in the centre ring and marshalling area and must wear an indemnity arm band provided at horse entry box to be eligible to compete. Competitors and handlers are only permitted to be in the ring for the duration of their class. Horses must not be tied to the arena fences. All Handlers must be on the same side of the fence as the horse. If the handler is not in possession of an indemnity wristband the horse and handler will be escorted from the arena by a steward.
Horse Measuring: No official measuring will take place at the show, but if a question about height arises, proof of height may be required. In the absence of proof, a decision will be at the absolute discretion of the Ring Master or Chief Steward. Entries: All Dairy Breeds Close 5 pm Monday 1st February, 2021 Definitely no late entries - No phone entries accepted. To be made on prescribed form available from the Secretary or on website. Tattoo/herdbook number to be shown on Entry Form. Entry Fee $5.00 per entry per class. Rules: 1. Johne’s Disease Cattle – Entries will be accepted from NJDMAP Assessed Herds and from non-assessed herds. Separation requirements as determined by the Australian Johne’s Disease Market Assurance Program will apply at the show. For details refer to the Nowra Show Society Cattle Entry Form. 2. All animals shown must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor. 3. The age of dairy cattle to be taken as at 1st January, 2021. 4. All cattle must be under control and all must be led around the judging ring. 5. Cattle shown in pens or group classes must have competed singularly in another appropriate class. 6. It is compulsory for all cattle to be entered according to their date of birth on registration. 7. Cow entered as dry will be allowed to compete as cow in milk (if calved). 8. Prize money: 1st $150.00, 2nd $100.00 and 3rd $50.00 supported by ECM Livestock, Moss Vale and awarded at the conclusion of the Group 5 Show season. The class is for a steer showing NO permanent teeth, to be prepared and exhibited by a fulltime school student or exhibitor under 18 yrs of age as at 30th June, 2021 The steer and handler must be the same for each show in this class. To be judged taking into consideration student handling and knowledge. The beef sub-committee recommends that the competition be judged the 1st steer class on the day. Results to be withheld and announced at the completion of the steer judging. Points to be awarded to a maximum of 10 placings and each competitor receive 10 points for attendance. Competitors in the ECM Livestock Junior Steer Competition are encouraged to exhibit in other open steer classes that may be scheduled on the day. Where schools are exhibiting other students may parade the steer competing in the Junior Steer Competition in an open class. Commercial Classes Commercial Competition Rules:
Open to commercial cattle only. Cattle should be from recognized Beef breeds. Crossbreeds are to be beef cattle crosses only. No female that is eligible to compete in the Stud Section will be eligible to compete in the Commercial Competition. No entire male calves are eligible to compete. All exhibits should be stalled on the western side of the cattle lawn unless tested negative for PestVirus (certificate to be provided). DOG HIGH JUMP

Entries to be made at Secretary’s office by Friday 5th Feb 6pm 1. The competition is a test of the dog’s jumping ability 2. The dog is to jump over the wall. However the dog can touch any part of the jump to get over the wall. 3. All dogs not jumping must be on a lead, with a handler, in the marshaling area away from the jump run up area. 4. Only one dog may be loose in the competition area at any one time. 5. The owner has the right to select the height, above the minimum height, at which the dog will commence competing 6. It is suggested that a 2nd - handler be used to catch the dog on the other side of the jump 7. Each dog is allowed three attempts at each height if necessary, until only one dog remains to provide a winner 8. The dog can remain on the lead during the run up and jumping however the handler cannot assist the dog by pushing or pulling the lead. 9. Any mishandling or misuse of a dog will incur immediate disqualification 10. Run up area and landing area to be flat with hay used as landing 11. The dog can be encouraged over the jump by handler on the other side of the jump, vocally or visually. 12. If more than one dog has jumped that final height, a count back of refusals is to be done. 13. Dogs on the showground at all times are to be securely tied or on a lead. 14. Bitches in season are not permitted on the ground. Pregnant bitches not permitted to jump. 15. Owners are responsible for their dogs and must adhere to council regulations. 16. Judge has right to refuse entry of any dog.

ENTRY DATE: Entries close: Friday January 22nd, 2021 @ 5.00pm. Entries must be received by the close of entry date, NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED. ENTRIES TO: NSW Show Secretary via email - [email protected]. All original entry forms and fees MUST be handed in to the steward for each goat entered during check in time. Animals without forms submitted and fees paid on the day will not be eligible to show. ENTRY FEES: $3 per entry per class. NO REFUNDS ALLOWED Studs with emailed entries will still be responsible to pay outstanding entry fees if not attending show. ELIGIBILITY: This show is open to Australian Miniature, Nuwby, Pygmy and Nigerian Dwarf Goats holding current and up-to-date registration with the MGBA. Pygmy/Nigerian Dwarf exhibits must be registered with DNA. Animals under 6 months with DNA pending may enter with a copy of parent’s MGBA registration papers. Exhibitors must produce a copy of registration certificate/s on the day with a signed copy of their show entry form to be eligible to participate in Breed Classes. All animals must comply with CAE and Johnes testing as detailed in following bio-security section. Animals must be owned or leased by the competitor, who must hold current membership with the MGBA. MGBA rules and regulations apply to goats at ALL shows. Competitor participation in events is at the MGBA discretion and on submitting their entries, all exhibitors are agreeing to the MGBA show rules and code of sportsmanship. Those not abiding by MGBA rules will be removed from the show and any wins forfeited. It is the competitor’s responsibility to follow all DPI and governing bodies’ state rules and requirements for tick/disease as well as movement of goats between states and to and from MGBA shows.
BREED: Animals are only eligible to enter one breed type section classes. Please ensure the breed is indicated on the entry form.
CHECK IN TIME: 8am - 9am. All vehicles must be parked by 8.30am JUDGING: commences at 10.00am.
EXHIBITS: MGBA Rules and Regulations apply. Full Show Rules are a supplement to this schedule and can be found on the Miniature Goat Breeders Association Website www.mgba.com.au MGBA Inc Breed Standards, Heights and Regulations will govern breed related issues IN ALL CASES. All Animals must be measured in prior to the commencement of judging and are to be brought up to the measuring station as directed by the steward. Animals not measured will not be permitted to show. Animals must have NLIS ear tag in place and Identification must be confirmed prior to commencement of judging.
(Any goats entering under dairy exemption must still have their ear tags present at the show).Animals should be good breed examples and must NOT have horns. All animals must be in healthy condition, free of ticks, lice and visible signs of disease or health problems. It is desirable that goats have been vaccinated. Exhibitors and handlers are to conduct themselves in an exemplary manor at all times. Abusive, disruptive or unsportsmanlike behavior will result in the exhibitor/handler being excused from the ring, forfeiture of fees/prizes/awards & disqualification from competing in further classes. It is the exhibitors responsibility to provide adequate food and fresh water for their animals for the duration of the show. It is condition of entry that the Best of Breed and Best In Show exhibits stand to be photographed, at the show under the direction of the steward, for recording & promotion of show results. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of exhibit, award/s being permanently removed & forfeiture of entry fees. Photos & results of classes / animals will be published as the Show Society / MGBAA require. Any photos taken at the show may be used by the MGBAA in future promotions.
BIO-SECURITY: • All animals over 12 months must have tested clear for CAE and Johne’s Disease within past 12 months (1).
• All animals under 12 months that are not tested require clear test results from both tested parents (or dam only when from AI IMPORTED straw).
• Copies of the test results should be attached to the relevant signed Goat Health Statement and submitted with entries via email. The test results must show the entered goat by name and/or ear tag.
• Signing of your entry form indicates that you and any person participating with you, agree to the following inclusions; I/we accept responsibility for checking the catalogue and having corrections made prior to judging; agree to follow the Stewards direction at all times; agree to ensure a safe environment for entries, exhibitors, spectators, officials and all others; and we declare that our animal/s meet the JD/CAE negative tested requirements and declare that they have not been in contact with or in the proximity (2) of untested animals (3) nor in contact with the uncleaned and non-disinfected facilities, vehicles or equipment used by any non-accredited herds or untested animals. Any milk used to feed kids must come from accredited herds or be pasteurized or spray dried (4). Notes: (1) negative test to JD/CAE within 12mths (or kids up to 12 months - require parent clear test results). A copy of laboratory test results with animal’s names/tags or if not available, a copy of the laboratory test results with a letter from the veterinary surgeon who collected the samples with the goat’s names/tags/identification methods or copy of the relevant accreditation certificate to be provided to the Stewards on request. Any laboratory test result that shows a positive or inconclusive result must be further investigated by a veterinary surgeon and this positive/inconclusive report must have attached to it the final report of such investigation e.g. a negative faecal test for JD or subsequent negative blood test for CAE. (2) animals are not permitted to make contact with untested animals - unloading/loading; walkways; pens; yards; feed/water receptacles; equipment; transport; show ring; etc at any time or testing is void. Contact is defined as being within 2 metres unless separated by a solid barrier. (3) Animals: goats; sheep; deer; cattle; camel; bison; llama; alpaca (4) goats that have been in contact with animals (3), their manure or unpasteurised goat’s milk from non-accredited sources must be held in isolation and be blood tested twice at an interval of 6-12 months. For clarity attending any non-MGBA shows that allow untested animals will be classed as having been in contact with untested animals.
CONDITION OF PARTICIPATION: It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to comply with these biosecurity and welfare measures whiles participating in any MGBA show - 1) provide adequate supervision of their animals at all times. Animals must not be subject to unsupervised handling or to access by the general public.
2) Restrict animals to designated areas by tethering or penning when not being led. 3) Promptly remove all feacal material regularly to provided plastic lined bins. This is particularly important in laneways and judging areas (it is the responsibility of each exhibitor to clean up after their animals). 4) Equipment must be cleaned and stored when not in use. 5) Sick animals are not permitted on grounds. 6) Accredited studs are responsible for putting in place their own measures to comply with their accreditation scheme. It is not the responsibility of the MGBA or show society to provide such measures. In interpreting the show/event regulations, any decision made by the show committee/manager is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
INSURANCE: All exhibitors/participants are responsible for arranging their own public liability insurance and other insurances. This Association or any of its representatives will not under any circumstances hold itself/themselves liable for any accident, loss or damage and it shall be a condition of entry/participation that each exhibitor/participant shall hold MGBAA and anyone associated with the organisation/conduct of event, blameless and indemnify it against any legal proceedings arising through any accident, loss, non-delivery or damage whatsoever.

The Alpaca section would like to welcome you all to visit and ask questions to students from Vincentia High School and the Australian Alpaca Youth Group. Alpacas don’t like dogs so please avoid bringing your dog near the Alpacas.
On Friday the 5th February – Vincentia High School Student’s will be bringing some of the Beautiful Alpacas they work with and train for everyone to meet, have a photo with and walk if you wish. On Saturday the 6th February – We will be holding a Youth Paraders competition between 9am – 3pm. If you are age between 7 and 26 years old, please feel free to enter this competition. There is an Open section for the old hands at the Youth Paraders and a Preliminary for the newer competitors.

During the Lunch break of the Youth Paraders we will are running the Alpaca Young Judges for people ages between 15 and 23 years old, this section is about placing Alpacas or Alpaca fleeces in order of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Then speaking about why you placed the animals or fleece in the order you have placed them. This will be done in front of the crowd and the over Judge at the alpaca section.

Hints for baking scones for Exhibitions/Shows (provided by Mrs Voni Muller)
First of all, read the Show Schedule thoroughly. Have a hot oven, know your oven. When cooked, brush off any excess flour, top and underneath, with pastry brush. To avoid flour on bottom of scones, line the baking tray with baking paper. Scones should be medium brown on top and light brown underneath. Sometimes it makes a difference whatever scone tray is used, for the bottom of the scones. Experiment prior to Show. Scones must be same size and shape, if possible. If mixture is too soft, gradually add a bit more flour. It is better to have a soft mixture and add extra flour than to have a stiff mixture and add extra liquid as this can make the top hard and the scone heavy. When cooked, cover with tea towel to keep the top soft.

Details Rich Fruit Cake Competition
The winner of the Rich Fruit Cake competition at Nowra Show will then proceed to the Zone Final judging to be held at the November Group Meeting on 6th November at 10.00am. The Zone winner will then go on to compete at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Cakes must be uncut. Recipe: 250g (8oz) Sultanas, 250g (8oz) chopped raisins, 250g (8oz) currants, 125g (4oz) chopped mixed peel, 90g (3oz) chopped red glace cherries, 90g (3oz) chopped blanched almonds, 1/3 cup sherry or brandy, 250g (8oz) plain flour, 60g (2oz) self-raising flour, ¼ teaspoon grated nutmeg, ½ teaspoon ground ginger, ½ teaspoon ground cloves, 250g (8oz) butter, 250g (8oz) soft brown sugar, ½ teaspoon lemon essence or finely grated lemon rind, ½ teaspoon almond essence, ½ teaspoon vanilla essence, 4 large eggs. Mix together the fruits and nuts and sprinkle with sherry or brandy. Cover and leave for at least one hour, but preferably overnight. Sift the flours and spices, cream butter and sugar with the essences. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then alternatively add fruit and flour mixes. Mix thoroughly. The mixture should be still enough to support a wooden spoon. Place the mixture into a prepared tin no larger than 20cm (8 inches) and bake in a slow oven for approx 3-4 hours. Allow the cake to cool in the tin. Note: To ensure uniformity and depending on the size it is suggested the raisins be snipped into 2 or 3 pieces, cherries into 4 to 6 pieces and almonds crosswise into 3 to 4 pieces. Recipe from Mrs Voni Muller, well known exhibitor & Life Member of Nowra Show Society.
Recipe to be followed: Chocolate Cake 2 cups SR Flour Pinch of salt ½ cup cocoa 125g butter 1 cup castor sugar 2 eggs Small dash of vanilla 1 cup milk Pre-heat oven to 180o C. Grease a round or rectangle 8 – 9 inch cake tin with butter. Sift flour, salt and cocoa 4 to 5 times into a bowl and put aside. In a separate bowl cream butter and sugar then add eggs and vanilla, beating well. Then gradually add flour mix and milk. Mix well and pour into cake tin. Bake in a moderate oven (180oC) for about 50 minutes. When cool, ice with chocolate icing by adding 1tbsp cocoa to icing mixture. Spread over cooled cake. Chocolate Icing 2 cups icing sugar/mixture 1 heaped tsp butter (melted) 1 tbsp cocoa Vanilla to taste Warm Water Sift icing sugar/mixture into a bowl. Add melted butter then mix to spreading consistency by slowly adding warm water. Add vanilla and cocoa to taste. Add more icing sugar or water if needed to achieve desired consistency.

Competition conducted at Society, Group and State Level Zone The Zone Final will be judged at Berry on Monday 15 th March, 2021.
Class: 37029 Three different types of Wool Articles and/or Garments
Conditions: 1. For the purpose of this competition the following definitions apply: a) Garment: an item that can be worn e.g. dress, jacket, scarf, hat. b) Article: a utility item that is not worn but can be used in the home e.g blanket, with an outfit eg. Bag; for amusement eg. Toy; as a decoration eg. Picture etc. c) Three different Types: the 3 items in an entry must differ from each other in terms of their construction technique and/or their purpose eg. 1. a knitted jumper, blanket and tea cosy OR 2. a knitted tea cosy, a crocheted tea cosy or a felted tea cosy OR 3. a knitted jumper, a knitted blanket and a crocheted blanket. 2. The whole article and/or garment must be constructed of, and contain a minimum of 80% wool. 3. Exhibits (articles/garments) may be knitted, crocheted, sewn, felted etc and must be hand crafted (use of sewing machine is permitted) 4. A sample of the yarn, fabric or fibre with label must be attached to each item making up the exhibit. If a label is not available (as in a handspun/felted item) a handwritten label with relevant details and sample will suffice. 5. An exhibit in this competition may consist of the work of one individual or a group of individuals, or an organisation. 6. All three articles/garments must have been completed within the 12 months prior to the local show and made by the exhibitor/s. 7. An exhibit having won at a local show may be exhibited (the same three articles/garments) at the Group Final. The winning exhibit at the Group Final is then eligible to compete in the State Final. 8. An exhibit is only eligible to represent one Society at Group level and one Group at State Level. 9. An exhibit (article/garment) that has previously competed at Group level is not eligible to compete again. 10. If this Class is not scheduled or attracts no entries at a local show, the Chief Pavilion Steward in consultation with the appropriate Pavilion Section Judges, may select three (3) suitable individual exhibits and, with the exhibitor’s permission, enter them in the Group Judging as an exhibit representing the particular Society concerned. 11. It is the responsibility of the Group Secretary and winner to co-ordinate the transfer of the winning entry to Sydney for the State Judging.

PATCHWORK QUILT GROUP COMPETITION

1. The exhibit is to be not more than one metre on any one side (rectangle or square shape only) 2. Framed and board mount exhibits NOT permitted. 3. Must be machine pieced and machine quilted. 4. ‘Celebrating The Shoalhaven’ Annual Art Prize

To celebrate the upcoming 150th Nowra Show in February 2026, we are announcing a new Annual Visual Arts Prize. The Nowra Show Art Prize will invite entries from all art media. In the lead up to the 150th Nowra Show celebration, the prize will each year have a different theme which celebrates the diversity and ongoing relationships between the agricultural communities within the Shoalhaven region. It will also reflect the ongoing and changing agricultural practices of the Shoalhaven region. We envisage that come the 150th Show in February 2026 that there will be an Art Exhibition displaying all the winning (and other invited) entries open to the General Public at an Exhibition, Location to be advised. In 2021 the theme is to be: “Shoalhaven Identities” Artists are invited to enter works which explore the huge variety of primary, secondary & cottage Industries that are abundant within the Shoalhaven. All media are accepted including: painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, fibre/textiles, and photography.
• All artwork and photography must be framed or mounted and prepared for hanging by single wire or nylon cord placed 1/3rd from the top and must be able to support its own weight. • Exhibits must have been completed within the 18 months prior to the 2021 Nowra Show.

Recipe to be followed: Chocolate Cake 2 cups SR Flour Pinch of salt ½ cup cocoa 125g butter 1 cup castor sugar 2 eggs Small dash of vanilla 1 cup milk Pre-heat oven to 180o C. Grease a round or rectangle 8 – 9 inch cake tin with butter. Sift flour, salt and cocoa 4 to 5 times into a bowl and put aside. In a separate bowl cream butter and sugar then add eggs and vanilla, beating well. Then gradually add flour mix and milk. Mix well and pour into cake tin. Bake in a moderate oven (180oC) for about 50 minutes. When cool, ice with chocolate icing by adding 1tbsp cocoa to icing mixture. Spread over cooled cake. Chocolate Icing 2 cups icing sugar/mixture 1 heaped tsp butter (melted) 1 tbsp cocoa Vanilla to taste Warm Water Sift icing sugar/mixture into a bowl. Hints for baking scones for Exhibitions/Shows First of all, read the Show Schedule thoroughly. Have a hot oven, know your oven. When cooked, brush off any excess flour, top and underneath, with pastry brush. To avoid flour on bottom of scones, line the baking tray with baking paper. Scones should be medium brown on top and light brown underneath. Sometimes it makes a difference whatever scone tray is used, for the bottom of the scones. Experiment prior to Show. Scones must be same size and shape, if possible. If mixture is too soft, gradually add a bit more flour. It is better to have a soft mixture and add extra flour than to have a stiff mixture and add extra liquid as this can make the top hard and the scone heavy. When cooked, cover with tea towel to keep the top soft.

“Celebrating The Shoalhaven” Annual Art Prize Supported by RH Boyd & Son Pty Ltd To celebrate the upcoming 150th Nowra Show in February 2026, we are announcing a new Annual Visual Arts Prize. The Nowra Show Art Prize will invite entries from all art media. In the lead up to the 150th Nowra Show celebration, the prize will each year have a different theme which celebrates the diversity and ongoing relationships between the agricultural communities within the Shoalhaven region. It will also reflect the ongoing and changing agricultural practices of the Shoalhaven region. We envisage that come the 150th Show in February 2026 that there will be an Art Exhibition displaying all the winning (and other invited) entries open to the General Public at an Exhibition, Location to be advised. In 2021 the theme is to be: “Shoalhaven Identities” Artists are invited to enter works which explore the huge variety of primary, secondary & cottage Industries that are abundant within the Shoalhaven. All media are accepted including: painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, fibre/textiles, and photography.
