THE NO. 1 team in the NCAA Division II women’s basketball poll is Alaska-Anchorage. The Javelina women met the Seawolves in Anchorage in December. As of last week, the squad had an impressive 25-1 record. The lone loss came to Northwest Nazarene of Idaho, and it came on the Seawolves’ home floor. Where does Alaska-Anchorage recruit in order to build a No. 1 squad in the frozen north? The players are from eight different states, including one from Hawaii.
