Athletics 2 Weekly Another amazing week is in Palestine High School 3 the books in the Wildcat Nation. We’ve got Ms. A.M. Story 4 Owens’s kindergarten Intermediate School students all eyes and ears as they learn about science and Southside Elementary 5 engineering with Mrs. Quarles School in science lab at Northside Primary School. And we Northside Primary 6 would like to give a big School Wildcat Nation thank you to Southside Baptist Church for ACE allowing Palestine High School 7 to use 3 rooms at their church for seniors to do SAT school day testing to social distance. 8th and 9th grade students were able to use Palestine High School’s auditorium for PSAT testing. JV and Varsity Volleyball both won this week.JV won in 2 sets and V won in 5 sets. Jan'Aa Johnson led the team offensively with 11 kills, Monique Thompson added 9 kills and Corian Hudson had 6. Mallory Mitchell had a great night from the serving line with 6 aces, she also led the offense with 14 assists on the night and had 11 digs as well. Rylie Schwab had a team high 13 digs. Aleeya Grayson added 4 aces from the serving line. The Ladycats will travel to Rusk with Varsity playing at 4:30 pm and JV playing after.

Both the Freshman and the JV Football Teams came away with wins this week. The Freshman Football Team defeated Henderson 28-21. The JV Football Team defeated Henderson 28-8. These ladies got them a W over Center for their last home game of the season! Palestine High School Dr. William Stewart: Principal The Principles of Law Enforcement class had a visit from Anderson County Sheriff Investigator, Sergeant A. Karriker. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Sheriff's Office and Sgt. Karriker for taking time out of her busy day and visiting with our students.

Do you like Math? Students in Texas ACE at Southside LOVE Math! As I observe Math classrooms in action, I see students who are smiling, “playing” (aka learning), discussing math concepts with each other, and challenging each other to see who can build the largest numbers, the best structure or the yummiest waffle! This is why I love working with Texas ACE and why I believe this grant is SO important to the students of Palestine ISD!
