I had to reply and tell them if I was going to the ceremony and who with. I was quite excited. On Thursday 14th March I went with my mum and dad to King’s Church in Amersham for the ceremony. There were lots of chairs and people around. Once we had told them we were there we got a seat and then went and had some fun shots in the photo booth. The ceremony started with Liz Walsh hosting and said it was a very special event. We listened to an acapella group from Chesham Grammar School sing 2 songs and they were very good. They had a different person to talk about each award and they then presented the award to the winner and then a certificate to the runner up. There were 8 awards in all. I think mine was the second one. Mine was presented by the sponsor of the event, GLL Better Gyms. He started by saying this award was for Arts and could involve singing, drama, choirs, media and all sorts. He then started talking about the winner and halfway through I realised he was talking about me. I was so excited, and my mum looked like she was crying! He said my award was for my dedicated volunteer work at a community radio station. I went on stage and took my award and then had a photo with it. [See the images on page 22] The runners up were then presented with theirs.
