Prakash Bhatt Is Prominent and Famous Cricketer from Saurashtra

02, Aug 2017 50th Test for Cheteshwar Pujara When Cheteshwar Pujara will enter the Sinhalese Sports club Ground, Colombo for the 2nd Test Match between India and Sri Lanka on 3rd August 2017, it will be a historic moment not only for him but also for all of us. Cheteshwar Pujara, the run machine and the son of Saurashtra soil will be playing his 50th Test Match and while doing so, he will become the first ever Saurashtrian to achieve this milestone. While his outstanding records speak for himself, it is pertinent to note that he has scored almost 4000 test runs at an average of more than 52 runs per innings. He also has scored 12 big hundreds during this journey. More importantly he has not only won the games for India but also has saved as many. When most Indian star cricketers were busy playing IPL, Cheteshwar was putting all the hard work to fine tune his techniques by playing English county cricket away from all the lime light. None of the negative things in life has ever been able to overpower his focus and hunger to score runs in which ever format and whatever brand of cricket he gets to play at any level. It appears as if he is sent on this planet by the almighty to show case the ultimate meaning of “pure concentration” and “genuinely true sports personality”. Throughout the journey of his cricket career over the past a decade or more, he has set a very high benchmark not only in terms of his performance on the field but also that of dignified behaviour and conduct on and off the field. His impeccable integrity towards the sport and brilliant attitude has won him hearts and recognition all over the world. Library - A History Theo Braganza Exactly a year after Dr.H.D.Kanga passed away ie on 29th December 1945, friends and well wishers got together to started a fund to perpetuate the name of Dr.Kanga. Under the chairmanship of the Vice Presidents of the the Bombay Cricket Association, Mr.H.M.Mehta and Mr.A.A.A.Fyzee, an appeal was sent out for contributions. The response was tremendous, the first to respond was the Tata Sports Club, among the other clubs were the Brothers Club, B.E.S.T. Sports Club, Zoroastrian Cricket Club, KhatauSports Club, Fort Vijay Cricket Club, Law College Gymkhana, Bombay University Sports Board, Cricket Association of Bengal,Bombay Telephone Co.C.C., B.B.& C.I. This case was initiated on the basis of information filed by Sh. Surinder Singh Barmi, a cricket fan from New Delhi against Board for Control of Cricket in India (hereinafter “BCCI”) to the Competition Commission of India (hereinafter “Commission”) under Section 19(1)(a) of The Competition Act, 2002 (hereinafter ”Act”) on November 02, 2010. The Commission, upon examination of the facts of the information, passed an order under Section 26(1), on December 09, 2010 recording its opinion that there exists a prima facie case, and directed the Director General (hereinafter “DG”) to investigate into the matter. 1.1 The DG submitted the investigation report on February 21, 2012. The investigation report was sent to the parties seeking their response on the same and further process of inquiry was undertaken in accordance with the provisions of the Act and relevant regulations thereunder. Full opportunity was given to both BCCI and the informant for perusal 1 of all relevant records and making their submissions, both in writing and orally before the Commission. 2. Memorandum of Association & Rules & Regulations of BCCI as finalized by the Committee of Administrators MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION 1. The name of the Association is “THE BOARD OF CONTROL FOR CRICKET IN INDIA” and it shall hereafter be referred to as the “BCCI”. 2. REPORT OF THE SUPREME COURT COMMITTEE ON REFORMS IN CRICKET [Volume One – Report & Annexures] REPORT OF THE SUPREME COURT COMMITTEE As per the judgment and order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 22nd January 2015, the Committee was to: i. Determine the punishment to be awarded to Mr.Gurunath Meiyappan, Mr.Raj Kundra and their Franchises; ii. Examine the role of Mr.Sundar Raman, and if found guilty, impose a suitable punishment; and iii. Recommend reforms in the practices and procedures of the BCCI and also amendments in the Memorandum of Association and Rules & Regulations. The Committee by its order dated 14th July 2015 awarded punishment to the individuals and Franchisees as per direction (i) above. By way of a separate report also delivered today, the role of Mr.Sundar Raman as outlined in (ii) has been considered. The present Report deals with the aspects covered in direction (iii). The Chairman and Members of the Committee express their gratitude to Mr. Gopal Sankaranarayanan, Advocate of the Supreme Court, who despite his professional commitments accepted the request to act as the Secretary of the Committee. The Committee highly appreciates the valuable contribution made by him in completion of this work. The Committee would like to thank Mr.Justice Mukul Mudgal for sharing his vast expertise and knowledge on sports law. The Sports Law & Policy Centre, Bengaluru has prepared its analysis on Comparative Governance Practices in Sports for the Committee, which has been of immense use and help to the Committee in understanding the nuances relating to sports governance.
