FINAL FOUR: The Washington volleyball team advanced to its first Final Four where it fell to eventual NCAA Champion Stanford, 3-1, in the national semifinal. Brie Hagerty led Washington with 21 kills and a .367 attack percentage against the Cardinal, while Sanja Tomasevic pounded 20 kills to go with 22 digs and seven blocks. Darla Myhre chipped in a match- high 13 blocks, in addition to eight kills. Kaitlin Leck was credited with 11 kills and six blocks for the Huskies, while dished out 60 assists in the match. Candace Lee provided the Husky defense a spark with 34 digs. Washington held a 15.5-13 block OPPONENTSadvantage. HISTORY

UW IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT: The Huskies have made nine appearances in the NCAA Tournament (1986, 1988, 1989, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2004) and have an all-time mark of 14-9. UW is 10-1 in postseason matches played in Seattle. Washington’s Washington broke the program’s attendace record on Oct. 23 when 5,712 fans packed Bank of America Arena Final Four appearance marked UW’s best finish in to see the Huskies sweep Stanford 3-0. UW had the highest attendance average in the Pac-10 last season and program history. It’s previous best finish included Elite ranked fifth in the nation with 3,211 fans per game. UW DEFEATS UCLA IN REGIONAL (28-2) and 1980 (28-12) and was 37-8-2 in 1978.
