Super Channel announces new staff appointments

Jenny Hacker joins the company as Director of Programming

Marlene Lone joins as Director, Affiliate Marketing

EDMONTON (December 13, 2018) – Super Channel is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenny Hacker to the role of Director of Programming and Marlene Lone to the role of Director, Affiliate Marketing. Both positions will be based in and report to Don McDonald, President and CEO. Both appointments were effective as of December 10th.

As Director of Programming, Jenny will lead the company’s domestic and foreign program acquisitions for three of the network’s four channels (Fuse, Heart & Home and Vault) and oversee development and production of Super Channel’s Canadian productions.

Jenny comes to Super Channel most recently from Diply where she was VP of Content, responsible for content strategy and editorial, video and social media creative for all Diply brands. As Director, Scripted Primetime at CBC, she headed the development and production of 120+ hours of prime-time programming including such half-hour comedies as , Mr. D, and the Report and one-hour dramas such as , Republic of Doyle and Heartland. She also served as Creative Head, Comedy during her time at CBC. Jenny holds an LL.B from Osgoode Hall Law School.

In the newly created role of Director, Affiliate Marketing, Marlene’s primary responsibilities will be to liaise with the BDU’s marketing groups to jointly develop and implement cooperative marketing strategies, with the goal of increasing subscriber growth and retention.

Marlene comes to Super Channel most recently from Rogers Communications where she was Executive Producer of In-House Productions, responsible for all and OMNI in- house productions, including Breakfast Television, Cityline, Entertainment City and specials. She also served as Director of Special Projects & Rogers TV Operations. Prior to joining Rogers, she held the position of Creative Director at CHUM Television.

Grant Campbell, currently Director, Affiliate Sales & Marketing at Super Channel sees his role revised to Director, Affiliate Sales and will continue to be based in Edmonton.

In addition, Carole Ljuden currently Manager, Information Technology, has been appointed to Director, Information Technology and Craig Miller, Manager of Operations, sees his role expanded to Director, Operations. Both Carol and Craig are located at the company’s head office in Edmonton.
