FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Iheartradio Presents Country-Music’S Next-Gen Stars Carly Pearce and American Idol Winner Trent Harmon at Pikes Peak Center November 4 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE IHeartRadio presents country-music’s next-gen stars Carly Pearce and American Idol winner Trent Harmon at Pikes Peak Center November 4 Tickets go on sale Friday, August 24 COLORADO SPRINGS (August 20, 2018) – Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts and iHeartRadio are excited to announce that two of country music’s next generation of stars, Carly Pearce and Trent Harmon of Big Machine Records, will perform in concert in Colorado Springs for one night only on Sunday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m. Pearce was destined for country music stardom – at the age of 11 she began touring with a local band in Kentucky where she was born; at the age of 16 she left public school to be home-schooled so that she could accept a job performing at Dollywood; and after many odd jobs over the years, Pearce now has a chart topping, No. 1 debut album, “Every Little Thing.” The album earned Pearce her first Academy of Country Music Awards nomination in April 2018 for New Female Vocalist of the Year and the CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year, among others accolades. SiriusXM chose Pearce for their all- genre “Class of 2017” and CMT rallied behind her as a “Next Woman of Country” alumni, while People magazine deemed her the “new voice of country.” The winner of the 15th and final season of the original American Idol, Harmon was born in Mississippi and grew up singing in church and performing in musicals in high school. After competing for a spot on The Voice in 2014, Harmon won American Idol in 2016 and a contract with Big Machine Records with whom he still works today. In May 2018 Harmon released his debut album “You Got ‘Em All,” from which the title track was released in February 2018.     Amory, Mississippi. Where is this place and, more importantly, why should I care? This little known city of 7,300 +/‐ is located in North East Mississippi in Monroe County. Home to dedicated and gifted student athletes, brilliant and inventive students and youth, and community involved citizens Amory is a railroad city at heart. In 1887, the officials for Kansas City, Memphis and the Birmingham Railroad requested a survey of a railroad right of way that would connect Birmingham and Memphis. The halfway point would soon be named Amory after Mr. Harcourt Amory from Massachusetts. Mr. Amory was in the cotton and cotton factory business and served as an executive officer for Lancaster Mills. He was a graduate of Harvard University and a collector of rare Lewis Carroll materials. Amory has been visited by British royalty, presidents, Hollywood stars, and famous musicians and athletes. Amory is home to the National Guard Old Amory. This is a historic building in Amory built originally for the National Guard and later served as a venue for artists to perform. Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley were known to perform at the National Guard Old Armory multiple times during the mid 1950 era. Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins have reminisced in various articles, biographies, and autobiographies that the song "Blue Suede Shoes" was written as a result of a concert held in Amory, Mississippi at the National Guard Old Armory where the two performed. Stan Perkins, son of Carl, has performed there multiple times during fundraisers for the building that have taken place annually since the beautiful renovation on the building courtesy of the generous Dalrymple Foundation.

On Aug. 26, 2006, Barrel Boy had yet to don a barrel. He was in his early 20s and came to work at iHeartMedia KNIX Phoenix (102.5), hopelessly hungover after a night of heavy drinking at a bowling alley. Barrel and friends were celebrating the first night of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “Soul 2 Soul Tour” doubleheader in Phoenix. His PD sent him home, told him to pull himself together and return to cover the second shift. Retribution, he said, was in order.
