Passt einfach immer. Following the festival of international handball January traditionally provides us with; it is time to shine the spotlight on club action once again. From 9 February to 12 March, the five remaining rounds of the group phase will determine which 12 teams will hold on to their dreams of reaching the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in Cologne. But before we begin analysing the current state of the four groups, let us take a look back at the recently concluded World Championship in France, which underlined the massive influence Europe’s elite club competition has on the handball world. In total, 133 players from 23 clubs who took part in January will continue their season in this competition. 18 of the 24 nations counted on Champions League experience, including all 14 European participants. 30 players return to the top flight of club handball with a medal around their neck – 15 French champions, two Norwegian silver medallists and 13 Slovenians who captured the bronze against Croatia. It will be fascinating to see how the recently awarded medallists can transfer their success from national team competition to their clubs, equally to witness the response from players who suffered from a disappointing end to their campaign.

It would be a global sports celebration on the land of Egypt, and the biggest world sports event to be organized with fans presence since the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic. Egypt has taken on the challenge and has been prepared to host this global event. This reinforces the message spread and entrenched by the Egyptian political leadership among the peoples of the world. This message stresses that social peace, inter-cultural communication and human integration are the only way for all peoples to live in peace and prosperity.
