The Summer of Sanako Sanako Lab 100 Cart Stuyvesant HS, NYC - is a public high school that specializes in mathematics and science, offering 7 world languages. The school opened in 1904 on Manhattan's East Side and moved to a new building in Battery Park City in 1992. Stuyvesant is noted for its strong academic programs, having produced many notable alumni including four Nobel laureates. Stuyvesant is one of the three original academic high schools of New York City. Run by the New York City Department of Education, the trio are open to New York City residents and charge no tuition. Admission to each is by competitive examination only, of which Stuyvesant has the highest cutoff score. Sanako Lab 100 Taconic HS, Pittsfield, MA ‐ Taconic High School has an enrollment of approximately 975 students and offers 4 foreign languages. It is a comprehensive high school, fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Students at Taconic High School explore pathways that are based on broad career areas of interest. All students take the same core academic subjects, letting the pathway direct their elective choices and community based activities to enhance their school experience. Sanako Lab 300 Norwood High School, Norwood, MA - Norwood High School is a partnership of students, parents, guardians, staff, and community. The mission is to encourage students to become independent thinkers who value learning and pursue excellence in the four A's: Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Activities, offering 3 foreign languages. They provide a safe and supportive environment where students learn to respect themselves, their community, and the diverse world in which we live. Kent School, Kent CT. - is a private, co-educational college preparatory school in Kent, Connecticut, USA, offering 4 modern languages. The Reverend Frederick Herbert Sill, Order of the Holy Cross, established the school in 1906 and it retains its affiliation with the Episcopal Church of the United States. Students at Kent come from more than 40 foreign countries and nearly as many states. Situated between the Appalachian Trail and the Housatonic River, the 1,200-acre campus currently serves 560 students, about 510 of whom board. The school was one of the first New England boarding schools to educate both young men and women in 1960. Kent School Boat Club also became the first American school crew to row at British Henley Royal Regatta and compete for the Thames Challenge Cup in 1927. Sanako Study 1200 Malden High School, Malden, MA - is a comprehensive high school offering core academic courses in Mathematics, English Language Arts, the Social Sciences, Science as well as 4 Foreign languages: Spanish, French, Italian, and Latin. Outside of the core academic areas students can take courses in these program areas: Fine Arts, Business, Technical Education (metals, automotive, woodworking and graphics), Physical Education, and Health. Valued for the diversity among our students, Malden High School boasts students from over 80 different countries speaking more than 50 languages. Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, Cambridge, MA - Cambridge Rindge & Latin School is a comprehensive high school divided into four Learning Communities designed to promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students. Honors courses are offered in all core classes (English, History, Mathematics and Science); Advanced Placement (AP) courses are available to qualified students in grades 11 and 12 as well as 5 foreign languages. In 2005, CRLS implemented the 4x4 Block Schedule with four 84-minute periods each day and two 90-day semesters each year. The Block Schedule provides many benefits to students and teachers including: fewer classes for students to prepare for each night, fewer books and materials to manage, and more individualized attention from the teacher. Greenwich Country Day School, Greenwich, CT ‐ Greenwich Country Day's remarkable history spans a period of over 80 years, starting with the boom period of the 1920. Country Day's decision to admit girls in 1942 was a touchstone moment for the school that enabled it to grow as a truly forward- thinking country day school. Beginning in grade 6, students choose from Spanish, French, Latin, or Mandarin Chinese for their world language study. Taunton High School, Taunton, MA - located within a large, three-floor, interconnected, multi- block complex in the eastern section of the city. It is a four-year urban public high school with an estimated average student enrollment of 3,000. It offers many student-oriented services, specialty academic programs, extra-curricular clubs, various after-school programs and a wide array of scholastic sports. Kingsborough CC, Brooklyn, NY- part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, is the only community college in Brooklyn, New York. The campus is located at Manhattan Beach, which is at the eastern end of Coney Island. The 71-acre campus overlooks Sheepshead Bay, Jamaica Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. Offering 7 languages, the Department is dedicated to helping students discover the world through the study of language, literature, and culture. The goal is to provide students with the means to scrutinize their own world view and challenge their capacity to identify with people of differing backgrounds. Sanako Study 700 Nathan Hale Ray High School, Moodus CT - With a focus on the concepts of live, learn and grow, this high school serves approximately 400 students in bucolic and rural Moodus and East Haddam. In addition to 2 languages, the school offers AP and gifted and talented classes, with a special focus on vocational and technical education to prepare students for future trade careers or university coursework. Faculty and staff promote SAT preparation, higher standardized testing scores and strong arts and music programs. .
