She will also be invited to join the resident performers during the finale, and then proceed to join the beneficiaries and their families to break fast for the day. Arts Alive! @ Ang Mo Kio GRC and Sengkang West SMC Features large format installations that are co-created by residents and community artist; Close to 700 residents will co-create a larger-than-life installation made up of recycled household items that forms a special message in celebration of National Day. Residents will come together to pen their wishes to complete the dazzling installation; 3D Lighted Tic-Tac-Toe installation measuring 8 metres by 8 metres that encourages players to relive the nostalgia from their childhood days; Mirror Maze that encircles the park allows residents to enjoy the limitless optical illusions; Caricatures of close to 100 residents will be drawn and instantaneously create a large format digital ‘Joyous Faces’ façade art; and Two HDB blocks (Blk 685 and Blk 698, Hougang Street 61) flanking the marquee will feature a full block of vibrant ‘Splatter Paint’ Flag Art and Joyous Faces that is co- created by more than 800 residents; The PAssionArts Festival village will be attended by Host Adviser Mr Gan Thiam Poh, as well as Special Guest Dr Lam Pin Min, Minister of State for Health. They will join residents in co-creating the large-format installations, and adding their colourful touches to the splatter paint flag art featured on Blk 685, Hougang Street 61.     PRESS RELEASE INNOVATION DRIVES PROGRESS IN CHINA-SINGAPORE (CHONGQING) CONNECTIVITY INITIATIVE 1. The fourth Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) Meeting for the China- Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) was successfully concluded in Chongqing, People’s Republic of China today. The meeting was co-chaired by Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing and Chongqing Mayor Tang Liangzhi. 2. The co-chairs reaffirmed the good progress achieved by the CCI since its launch, and deliberated its next steps. They discussed ways to deepen collaboration under the CCI’s four priority sectors, namely financial services, aviation, transport and logistics and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). The co-chairs also explored piloting and implementing measures to facilitate the seamless movement of a greater variety of goods between China, Singapore and the rest of the world through the CCI New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (CCI-ILSTC). 3. Mr Chan said, “Having set up the framework for the CCI-ILSTC, we can now focus on strengthening this network by bringing in more partners, closing the last mile in physical and non-physical connectivity, and continually looking for new ideas to take 21st century connectivity to the next level. Progress will be a powerful testimony to how greater connectivity and integration can benefit our people by leveraging our comparative and collective strengths.” 4. Earlier today, Mr Chan and Mr Tang witnessed the signing of nine Memoranda of Understanding among different organisations for CCI collaborations in sectors such as financial services, transport and logistics and ICT. It’s been seven years since the first official launch of the Movement, and almost three years since I’ve been roped in to serve as Chairperson. Our mission to promote the speaking of “good” English has not changed. 2. But in light of developments in linguistics, we have supplemented (not replaced) the layman’s use of the nebulous term, “good” English with Singapore Standard English.
