Workforce Innovations and Opportunities Act (WIOA)-The purpose of the WIOA Program is to establish activities to prepare youth and adults facing serious barriers to employment for participation in the labor force by providing job training and other services that will result in increased employment and earnings, increased educational and occupational skills, and decreased welfare dependency. These activities will improve the quality of the workforce and enhance the productivity and competiveness of the Nation. Activities are determined by individual assessment and could include: Occupational Classroom Training, On-the-Job training, and/or Resume Development Services. Monies are allocated specifically for youth between the ages of 14-24, adults that are unemployed or incumbent workers, individuals unemployed due to a lay-off or long-term unemployment, and individuals with little or no work experience. Occupational Classroom Training-Monies are available to assist those WIOA eligible candidates who are interested in furthering their education in order to increase their marketability in the labor market. Programs range from working towards GED attainment, to industry- specified occupational classroom training to two (2) year Associate Degree Programs. Information regarding available grants within Ohio is also available through the Workforce & Business Development Program. Training must be in a high-demand occupation. All interested applicants must first apply for all grants prior to WIOA Assistance. All Educational Institutions must have completed and received approval via the State Certification Process prior to being utilized.

On-The-Job Training (OJT)-Monies are available to assist WIOA eligible candidates interested in furthering their education/training on the job with an area employer. Employers are reimbursed for Employee Training Costs during a previous agreed upon job training period.

Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCEP) TANF and WIOA Youth Programs-Serving low-income youth ages 14-24, CCMEP provides employment and training services to eligible, low-income individuals based on a comprehensive assessment of employment and training needs, as well as a basic skills assessment. Participants are provided services to support goals outlined in their individual opportunity plan, which may include support to obtain a high school diploma, job placement, work experience, and other supportive services such as child care and transportation.
