Sixth Regular Meeting for FY 2015

The Oklahoma Board of Nursing held its sixth regular meeting of FY 2015 on May 19, 20 & 21, 2015. Notice of the meeting was filed with the Secretary of State’s Office on December 4, 2014. Notice/agenda was posted outside the meeting room at the Reed Conference Center, 5800 Will Rogers Road, Midwest City, Oklahoma, and on the Oklahoma Board of Nursing website. A notice/agenda was also posted on the Cameron Building front entrance at 2915 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City, as well as the Board office, 2915 N. Classen Blvd., Suite 524, at 12:00 PM on May 18, 2015, and not less than 24 hours prior to the meeting.

3.0 Hearings

On any of the individual proceedings listed below with a specific hearing date listed: A. if after receiving proper notice, the Respondent has not filed the required Response and/or fails to appear, the Board may declare the Respondent in Default and revoke, suspend or otherwise discipline Respondent as the Board deems necessary [OAC 485:10-11-2 (c)(2) and (9)].

Glazier reported on meetings with members of the Oklahoma Legislature that occurred since the last meeting of the Board, specifically Representative Cox, regarding nurse administration of medications with FDA Black Box Warnings. Ms. Glazier also reported on the comprehensive presentation made before the Senate Subcommittee on Select Agencies related to budget information, FTEs, the Board, revolving fund, and agency performance indicators.

K. Glazier provided an update to the Board on progress toward implementation of electronic Board Meetings in keeping with the agency's strategic plan initiative for paperless Board meetings, including cost information for the software and hardware.

K. Glazier reviewed with the Board legislation which may impact the agency.
