OAKLAND NOTES  The Oakland Athletics snapped their four-game losing streak, which was one short of the season high of five (May 12-16)… recorded their 13th shut out of the season, which is their most since recording 14 shut outs in 2003… are 1-0 on this nine-game homestand against Los Angeles (1-0), Seattle (three games) and Boston (three games).  Gio Gonzalez has allowed one run or fewer in nine of his last 14 starts and is 7-3 with a 2.11 ERA (21 er in 89.2 ip) over that span…is 6-2 with a 2.05 ERA (15 er in 66.0 ip) in 10 starts since the All-Star Break after going 7-6 with a 3.79 ERA in 18 starts before the break…is 3-1 with a 3.29 ERA (10 er in 27.1 ip) in five career appearances against the Angels.  Matt Carson (0 for 2) is on a 0 for 14 streak...drew his first career walk after 29 games without a walk… had not drawn a walk in his first 69 at-bats.  Rajai Davis (2 for 4) is batting .438 (14 for 32) in nine games against Los Angeles this year and is a .319 (38 for 119) career hitter against the Angels… stole his 41st base of the season, which matches his career-high from last season.  Cliff Pennington (1 for 1) snapped his career-long 105-game homerless streak… his last came on April 27 at Tampa Bay.
