    The Goa Regularisation of Unauthorized Construction Act, 2016 (Goa Act 20 of 2016)[12-9-2016] AN ACT to provide for regularisation of unauthorized constructions in the State of Goa and for matters connected and incidental thereto. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Goa in the Sixty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement. — (1) This Act may be called the Goa Regularisation of Unauthorized Construction Act, 2016. (2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Goa. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 24th day of June, 2016. 2. At the same time, they may also create an adverse impact on the surrounding environment. People and property in the direct path of the road works may be affected. The environmental impact of highway projects include damage to sensitive Eco-systems, soil erosion, changes to drainage pattern and thereby affecting groundwater, interference with animal and plant life, loss of productive agricultural lands, resettlement of people, disruption of local economic activities, demographic changes, accelerated urbanization and increase in air pollution and noise levels.     Consultancy Services for Four Laning of existing Goa/Karnataka Border-Panaji Goa Section of NH-4A Initial Social Impact from Km 84.000 to Km 153.075 in the state of Goa Assessment Report on BOT (Toll) basis under NHDP-III (Anmod to Panaji Section) 1.1 INTRODUCTION NHAI has been entrusted to implement the development of some of the stretches of National Highways under National Highway Development Programme on EPC/BOT basis. As part of this endeavor, the Public Works Department (PWD) of Government of Goa has decided for the development of existing 2/4 lane road of Goa/Karnataka Border – Panaji Section of NH-4A into 4 lane with configuration. The proposed project road of NH-4A starts at Km. 97.000 in Mollem and ends at Km. 143.400, Panaji city. 1.2 PROJECT ROAD DESCRIPTION The project road runs through three different type of terrains amidst geographically rich Western Ghats that ends at 153.770 bifurcating Madgaonkar and Panaji road of NH-17 at bypass junction at Km. 149.690. A considerable 46 kilometer long Project Highway is a part of NH-4A (Belgaum-Anmod-Ponda- Panaji) which starts at Km. 97.000 at Mollem and passes through some important villages and towns e.g Mollem, Sangod, Dharbandora, Piliem, Tiska, Kandepar, Ponda, Curti, Ambegal, Veling, Boma, Banastarim, Corlim, Velha Goa, Ribandar and Panaji in Goa state. The entire stretch of NH-4A lies in the states of Karnataka and Goa which facilitates as an important link between NH-4 and NH-17. The influenced areas of the proposed project comprise of two districts namely North Goa and South Goa.

    10.06.2021 GOVERNMENT OF GOA DIRECTORATE OF FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE EMERGENCY INCIDENTS ATTENDED DURING THE CYCLONE TAUKTAE 15.05.2021 to 31.05.2021 The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for coastal Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat for 15.05.2021 due to the severe cyclonic storm Tauktae in the Arabian Sea. It had also issued an Orange Code warning for North & South Goa with Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall and squally winds with speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 80 -100 kmph along & off North & South Goa. The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services as a proactive measure had briefed all the Fire Stations across the State on 15.05.21 to be in state readiness for any eventuality for Search, Rescue, Uprooting of Tree and other incidents. The Fire Stations which has been decentralised into 3 zones viz; South Zone, Central Zone and North Zone across Goa having all the minimum required Disaster Management equipment’s in tackling the aftermath of the Cyclonic wind effectively. The Directorate, during the period of two weeks ie. from 15.05.21 to 31.05.21, has received 1443 Emergency Calls pertaining to uprooting of various trees such as Mango, Banyan, Nilgiri, 1 Casurina, Gulmohar, Tamrind, Jackfruit etc. on Major district roads, Highways, Residential Houses, Electrical Transformers, Electrical poles/lines etc. 1443 Emergency Calls have been attended across the State of Goa. The Mapusa Fire Station attended the most number of emergency calls of 217, followed by Fire Force Headquarters at 180 and Vasco Fire Station at 148.
