Collection this Weekend: Racial Justice Sunday this is to The Pope’s Prayer Intention for February - Human Trafficking For a generous support the work of our welcome of the victims of human trafficking, of enforced prostitution, and Church in promoting Racial of violence. Justice in our schools, Parishes Parish meeting: and wider society Thank you to everyone who turned up to meet with Fr Soper on Tuesday. It was a good meeting and well attended. Some important issues were raised which we will feed back to the parish in a couple of weeks’ time. Fr Vic Adult Faith Formation - “The Joy of Hope” The Joy of Hope course is beginning this Lent! Filmed on location on the beautiful Greek Holy Island of Patmos, where Scripture tells us the Book of Revelation was written. These four enjoyable sessions, presented at key places around the island, will help you to face the challenges of everyday life with renewed hope and joy. It will offer uplifting and practical insight into the joy of living now with hope in the future blessing of Eternal Life with God in Heaven. We will be holding it on Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm at Sacred Heart Church starting on the 5th March. Churches Together Lent Courses: Inspiring Music in Worship The course will start at 7.30pm on Wednesday 13th March and will run for 5 weeks at the Sacred Heart Church. Inspiring Music in Worship encourages parishes to enhance their devotion, even when they have few resources. This course is open to everyone, musician and non-musician alike. Each session is grounded in real-life case studies, and will involve discussion and prayer. Please contact the parish office if you can attend. Lent Services - Ash Wednesday 6th March 9.30am mass - Sacred Heart Church, Goudhurst 11.00am mass - St Barnabas Church, Hawkhurst 8.00pm Ecumenical service at the Sacred Heart Church, Goudhurst, with St Mary’s Church. Lent Lunches – Hawkhurst Lent lunches are starting on the 15th March at 12-1.30pm and will be held at the Baptist Church Hall in Hawkhurst. All are welcome. Adoration: Adoration provides us with a wonderful opportunity to be with the Lord in a setting of peace and quiet. We have adoration at The Sacred Heart Church every Wednesday morning at 8.30 to 9.30 and every Saturday morning at 11 to 12. "The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in Heaven, and will help bring about everlasting peace on earth," - Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Friday 1st March ‘World Day of Prayer’ – A Service for the World Day of Prayer, a woman- led, global ecumenical movement, will take place at 8.00pm in The United Reformed Church in Staplehurst. This is a service where the whole world comes together in prayer for the wellbeing of our planet and all its people.
