I was blessed this past Easter to have my entire family with me for the first time in several years. Knowing they were coming to visit sent me into Martha Stewart mode, not to mention tour guide and activity director. While looking for something my son, daughter-in- law and two granddaughters (4-year-old Drea and 4-month-old Harley) might enjoy, I came upon Grayce Wynds Farm and The Wild Horse Preserve in Supply, North Carolina. I had an opportunity to chat with Sue Immen, owner and founder of this friendly, clean and nonprofit educational site. Sue and Bill (husband and co-owner) planned to purchase five acres when they moved to Holden Beach from Virginia but ended up with 30 acres for the same price as five. They owned two horses at the time, and now have chickens, several horses and mustangs from different herds. Sue said their mission is to connect people and East Coast wild horses through outdoor education and recreation, thus several events held on the farm are open to the public for an entry fee donation. The Drea enjoyed the horse barrel train ride. (photo by Dennis Immens offer a variety of services and activities such Mancinelli) as birthday parties, farm dinners, carriage rides and horse boarding.
