Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd Final Shooting Script Last revised October 7, 1983 EXT. NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY -- DAY The sun shines brightly on the classic facade of the main library at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. In the adjacent park area, pretty hustlers and drug peddlers go about their business. FRONT STEPS A few people lounge on the steps flanked by the familiar stone lions. INT. MAIN READING ROOM -- DAY People are dotted throughout the room sitting at the long oak tables polished by decades of use. Reading lamps with green glass shades cast a golden glow on the tables. The patina of age is everywhere. It is very quiet. LIBRARIAN A slightly stout, studious looking girl in her late twenties circulates quietly among the tables picking up books and putting them on her cart. Everything seems completely normal and peaceful. POV A single eerie musical note signals the presence of something strange looking down on the Librarian from a vantage point high above the room. It follows the Librarian as she pushes her cart around the corner. INT. WORK AREA The Librarian is alone in a back room sorting books for reshelving. Behind her is the card catalogue. One of the books attracts her interest and she starts leafing through it. THE CARD CATALOGUE Another eerie note is heard as one of the drawers silently slides open behind the Librarian and hundreds of index cards start popping out. The Librarian continues reading completely oblivious to this strange phenomenon. She gets up and moves past another row of cabinets. -

Smithsonian Depositions and Subject to a Film Clark Coolidge First published by Vehicle Editions (New York) in 1980. [Reading Copy Only: facsimile available at http://english.utah.edu/eclipse] SMITHSONIAN DEPOSITIONS . and it is a place in a state, a book, a movie like any other. The back of a dry goods house on Wop Hill, the sun coming through the bushes. The doctor moves a bit in his car rolling past, or is it through?, the outskirts. And the Great Quarry of Leach enclosed in no way an appropriate setting, abutted upon noone in any manner. A feldspar in red leaves. The pool is blue in green in white rim-cupped edges. The oranges are loose. Walking the picket wall along, a man whose thoughts twitch as billboards blank the light. It's a gnat, its pulse, a nylon purse under ultraviolet fixture in daylight. Even the large houses are small, inside the television a blue in grey. A football star with "Glass" on his jersey back. Nothing is lacking nor waiting for the fire in the grate, the mumbles over walnuts, the glance past an andiron. I have gone here to come away glanced, and moved upon. And a grasshopper of red basalt, boot-long, tumbles from the core of his mind, a rubble-bank disintegrating beneath a tropic downpour. Then Passaic Center loomed like a dull adjective. Each "store" in it was an adjective unto the next, a chain of adjectives disguised as stores. One second I was born, and then found that I lived there. The trees have been red so long that many feel it will never rain again. -

Allied Artists & Monogram Pictures Historical* Resume
Allied Artists & Monogram Pictures The Allied Artists and Monogram Pictures names have always stood for cost effective, yet quality entertainment product. There have been a number of motion picture houses known for their ability to produce movies inexpensively. Many such companies have not only produced “cheap” movies – often dubbed “B’s” - but some have successfully modeled themselves after larger studios, earning multiple Academy Awards along the way. By the early 1930’s, only a handful of the independents had configured themselves into cheaper versions of the studio system. One of the most important was Monogram, which was originally located at 4516 Sunset Blvd., then relocated to 1040 N. Las Palmas Ave. In 1935, Monogram merged into Republic, becoming an independent company again one year later, and moving, once again, over to Sunset Drive and Hoover Street. Monogram made money on the Bowery Boys and the Cisco Kid, but under its intended “A” movie subsidiary, Allied Artists, also produced some truly memorable films, including Don Siegel’s paranoid masterpiece, Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Throughout the years, Allied Artists has released such award winning movies as Cabaret; Papillon; The Wild Geese; El Cid; The Pawnbroker; House on Haunted Hill; and such camp cult classics as The Blob, The Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, and The Queen of Outer Space, to name just a few. Through the golden age of the low budgets, Allied Artists and Monogram Pictures were responsible for the following motion pictures: (Award nominated, award winning, and notable films indicated in italic bold face) ALLIED ARTISTS PRODUCED MOVIES 1. -
