Our regular weekly prayer for peace at the peace pole hosted by the social justice committee is not currently being held due to the pandemic, but our valuing of active peacemaking has not changed. We continue to be a parish family inspired by the witness of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and by the wise words of Pope Paul VI: “If you want peace, work for justice.” The past months of uncertainty and unrest may bring up with members of our Come, Holy Spirit, community many emotions: fear, anger, confusion, and more. We trust that the God of all consolation is always present, inviting us to listen for his voice of love, peace, fill the hearts of mercy, justice, and truth.
