  • STING 21309 Making Your Mind up Vocal By: Stefan Sidholm
STING 21309 Making Your Mind Up vocal by: Stefan Sidholm Release Date: MP3 and CD – 2015 / 11 and Jack Borgström Originally Released as part of the 2013 Edition Singing Call MS-66 of the Sting Productions Ambassador Club Hanhurst’s Best Seller listing: (see the home page for more details about this) Original artist: Bucks Fizz (November 201 5) – TBA Bucks Fizz are most famous for winning the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Making Your Mind Up ", the group was formed in January 1981 specifically for the contest and comprised four vocalists: Bobby G , Cheryl Baker , Mike Nolan and Jay Aston . They achieved instant attention with the dance routine, which accompanied the song, involving a skirt-rip; they went on to have a successful career around the world (albeit ignored in the United States), with record sales in excess of 15 million. This song had always been in the “back of my mind” as an idea for a Sting tune, the biggest problem was trying to find a way to speed it up without making it sound too “rushed”. One of the fantastic advantages of the Ambassador Club paradigm, allowed us to try “other studios”, where we might try to experiment with different tune structures. As can be heard - we achieved our intention with this recording. This is a superb “first tip” number, guaranteed to prompt the dancers to sing-a-long! Additional Lyrics: Music: the where, when and who... You gotta speed it up and then you gotta slow it down The music for this release was created in Texas, at the Studio Cos if you believe that a love can hit the top you gotta play around used for Global Music Productions, by producer emeritus: and soon you will find that there comes a time for making your mind up Doug Bennett.

  • Trade Marks Inter Parte Decision (O/296/11)
O-296-11 TRADE MARKS ACT 1994 APPLICATION No. 2535492 BY THE ORIGINAL BUCKS FIZZ TO REGISTER THE TRADE MARK ‘THE ORIGINAL BUCKS FIZZ’ IN CLASS 41 AND OPPOSITION No. 100772 BY HEIDI MANTON AND APPLICATION No. 83877 BY THE ORIGINAL BUCKS FIZZ TO REVOKE THE TRADE MARK ‘BUCKS FIZZ’ REGISTERED UNDER No. 2137010 Background 1. BUCKS FIZZ was registered as a trade mark on 27 April 2001 in the name of Heidi Manton. The application for registration had been made nearly four years earlier on 25 June 1997, but the application was initially opposed by Mike Nolan and Rita Stroud (stage name, Cheryl Baker). The opposition was withdrawn in 2001. The mark was then registered under No. 2137010 for: Class 09: Sound and/or video recordings; gramophone records; audio cassettes; compact discs; video tapes and cassettes; CD-ROMS; computer software. Class 41: Live entertainment; theatrical, stage and musical entertainment and production thereof; shows; television broadcasts, video and audio broadcasts and recordings; entertainment services rendered by a vocal and instrumental group. 2. On 7 January 2010, The Original Bucks Fizz, a partnership consisting of Mike Nolan, Rita Stroud and Jay Aston (hereafter “the partnership”) applied to register THE ORIGINAL BUCKS FIZZ as a trade mark for entertainment services. 3. That application (No. 2535492) is opposed by Heidi Manton on two grounds. Firstly, that the trade mark is for identical services to those covered by earlier trade mark No.2137010 and the marks are so similar that there is a likelihood of confusion on the part of the public. Secondly, that the application was made in bad faith.

Cheryl Baker makes her mind up to get back in shape with the Jenny Craig weight management programme Submitted by: Tonic Life Communications Wednesday, 8 September 2010 Cheryl Baker makes her mind up to get back in shape with the Jenny Craig weight management programme Bucks Fizz singer and TV presenter, Cheryl Baker, 56, is losing weight and looking great after finding the solution to her weight struggles – the Jenny Craig weight management programme. The mother of two has so far dropped from a size 16 to a size 12 having shed 18lbs in eleven weeks by following the Jenny Craig programme which is famous in the US and new to the UK. At her heaviest and on starting Jenny Craig, Cheryl weighed 11st 13lb. Now mid-way on her weight loss journey Cheryl is looking great at 10st 9lb. To inspire other women Cheryl has taken the brave decision to go public with her story by appearing in a TV and print advertising campaign for Jenny Craig – she aims to lose two and a half stone (35lbs) in total over about 20 weeks. When Cheryl won Eurovision in 1981 she was 8st 4lbs. With major projects on the horizon including a big reunion tour with Bucks Fizz to celebrate the 30 Year Anniversary of their 1981 Eurovision Song Contest triumph, the hectic year ahead was the motivation she needed to get into shape, Cheryl explains: “Winning Eurovision was ‘three stone ago’ for me! As a typical yo-yo dieter I’ve always struggled with my weight. I just love food.
