Forthcoming Traditional Masses at St Wulstan’s

++ Missa Cantata ++ 3:00 p.m. on Sunday 11 November for the Fallen

Mass on the Centenary of the Armistice will be a Sung Requiem Mass for the Fallen and preparations are already well under way: the parish catafalque and funeral pall have been unearthed; the six wrought iron funeral candle stands for the catafalque have been cleaned and repainted; and even a set of antique black has been acquired.

The Requiem Mass will be offered in what is now formally called the Extraordinary Form of the , but which would have been entirely familiar to Catholics of all sides at the time of both World Wars.

The celebrant will be Dom Jonathan Rollinson OSB. Mass will be sung by Schola Gregoriana Malverniensis.

The celebrant will be Dom Jonathan Rollinson OSB. Mass will be sung by Schola Parva. This Mass will mark the first anniversary of our move from Spetchley Park to St Wulstan’s.

St Wulstan’s Christmas Fair – Wed 28 November AD 2018

A Christmas Fair & Coffee Morning 10:00-13:30 at Welland Parish Hall (WR13 6NT) in aid of the Restoration of St Wulstan's Church. Entrance £3 (£5 for two) including coffee/tea & biscuits. Commercial stalls include: Black Mountain Smokery (smoked fish, meats, etc.); David Birtwhistle (art); Jean Brown Knitwear; Redland Pottery; and Cowleigh Park Candles. Also Home Produce, St Wulstan's Christmas Cards, Bottle Tombola, Books & Music, and a Christmas Raffle.

Sung – 6:00 p.m. on Sat 1 December AD 2018

As part of a workshop being organised at St Wulstan’s (see below) Vespers of Saturday before the First Sunday of will be sung at 6:00 p.m. on the evening of Saturday 1 December. All welcome.

Chant Workshop for Advent – 1-2 December AD 2018

This Gregorian Chant workshop will be led by Iain Simcock, Director of the Schola Gregoriana of Cambridge. The Saturday session begins at 11:30 and ends with Sung Vespers at 6:00 p.m. Mass in the Form the following morning will also be sung by workshop participants. St Wulstan’s Appeal Christmas Cards

These attractive Christmas cards show the Nativity from the Lady Chapel stained glass window by John Hardman. There are 10 cards per pack (with envelopes) costing £4.00 per pack. Cards are available with five different colour backgrtounds: red, orange, green, blue, and white. The greeting inside the cards reads “Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year”. All profits go to St Wulstan’s Restoration Fund.

Mass of Ages – Issue 196 – Autumn 2018

Mass of Ages is the quarterly magazine of the Latin Mass Society. It contains reports on our many activities across the country, news of Traditional Catholic events, articles on aspects of traditional Faith and culture, and opinions on developments in the .

A few copies of the latest edition, will be available on the table to the back of church. Mass of Ages is free to non-members; members receive their personal copies in the post.

Accountability

It is practice in many parishes to publish details of Mass Attendance and Collections in the weekly bulletin. The corresponding information for Masses organised by Extraordinary Malvern is available in graphical form on the website. See the “Accountability” page for current details which for now show a slow but steady increase in average attendance, with a record-breaking 43 attending Mass on 28 October!
