NORTHERN GROUP OF COUNCILS BUILDING CONTROL COMMITTEE ANNUAL REPORT 2003/2004: The Chair introduced Mr Robert White, Chief Building Control Officer to the meeting. Mr White presented his report which outlined the Group’s activities during the year and initiatives for the year ahead and answered members’ queries thereon. Members commended the officers within Council’s Building Control Department, thanked Mr White for his presentation and he left the meeting. PLANNING APPLICATION - B/2004/0064/O: The Town Clerk referred to letters dated 17, 18 and 21 October 2004 from Mr & Mrs J D Harper of 94 Bolea Road requesting that the above planning approval in respect of 93 Bolea Road be withheld in light of the fact that the applicant acted in contravention of planning approval B/1997/0008 (91 Bolea Road) in the removal of mature trees on this site. Mr Brown advised that a total of five trees had been removed from the boundary of the two sites at the request of the residents of 91 Bolea Road in the interests of public safety. -

(028) 2827 2258 PRESS RELEASE PRESS RELEASE PRESS RELEASE PRESS RELEASE The Eighteenth NORTHERN IRELAND OPEN ACCORDION CHAMPIONSHIPS held in the Belfast Loughshore Hotel Carrickfergus (formerly known as the Clarion) on Saturday 28 February 2015 were another huge success with reaction from spectators and competitors alike being very favourable towards the festival which ran like clockwork in a relaxed and friendly spirit. Organised by Clyde Johnston it is the largest accordion festival held in Northern Ireland and attracted a record 240 entries. The Championships are recognised by the National Accordion Organisation of the United Kingdom as a qualifier for the UK Championships, held later in the year in Liverpool and Clyde was delighted to again welcome competitors from the Chilton School of Music in Co.Cavan and Gerry Kelly’s Accordion School from Co Meath. There were also other entries from Co.Meath, Co.Dublin, Southern England and Glasgow in addition to the local competitors and trade stands by Rolston Accordions and Rob Howard which greatly enhanced the Festival. The adjudicators were Ivan Black, Audrey Gillian and Philip Hammond. They were greatly impressed not only by the high standard of playing but also with the smooth and efficient manner in which the Championships were run. MINUTES: The minutes of meeting dated 15 February 2011 were approved and signed on the proposal of Alderman Coyle, seconded by Councillor McElhinney. MATTERS ARISING: - None. SCHEDULE OF PLANNING APPLICATIONS: (Deferred applications – see appendix): Mr Brown answered queries on applications listed on the deferred applications schedule and the decisions were accepted subject to the following. D1 - B/2009/0067/F – retention of a yard used for the hire and sales of vehicles and additional perimeter landscaping, adjoining 64 Ballykjelly Road, Limavady (Mr O Harper) It was agreed that decision on this application would be held for 4 weeks. D8 - B/2010/0305/F – conversion of existing dwelling to a pair of semi- detached houses including front extension for entrance porches adjacent to 127 Baranailt Road, Drumraighland, Limavady (Mr Paul McArthur): Council disagreed with the decision to refuse this application.
