President’s Message: This November election is a choice between freedom and security vs. socialism and mob rule!

By , CCRW President CONTENTS For the first time in my life I’m agreeing with this liberal coalition President’s Message…….….….1 calling for Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler’s resignation: Coalition of American-Islamic Relations, the Portland chapter of the Democratic Bowerman Report ……..…..…..3 Socialists of America, the political action group Next Up Oregon and 2nd VP Report…………………..4 PDX Resistance. Wheeler is unequipped to keep people safe in the Treasurer’s Report………………5 city he is responsible for. He has become a national disgrace! Membership Report ……….…..5 Allowing violent protests to continue for more than 90 days has not only driven 40% of businesses away, it’s CCRW Membership Form……..6 caused tens of millions of dollars in Member Business Directory …..7 downtown Portland property damage and has now devolved into the assassination of CCRW Endorsements………..…7 an innocent citizen who was only guilty of LWV Candidate Forums…..……8 expressing his support for conservative Current CCRW Members … …10 values. Then Wheeler has the gall to blame our great President for his own failure of leadership! UPCOMING Is this the Portland Ted Wheeler wants: only EVENTS those who agree with the violent mob now firmly in charge of his downtown streets are granted first amendment rights?

CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1: President Liz’s Message CCRW’s proudly presents Hootenanny for Freedom on September 16th featuring Loren Culp!

Clark County Republican Women are gearing up to put on the biggest party of the year on Wednesday, September 16th at 6pm! We are extremely honored to present the Hootenanny for Freedom featuring guest speaker Republican Gubernatorial candidate Loren Culp. Loren won the August primary by a large margin among GOP challengers and is now squaring off with Inslee in the November election. Let’s do all we can to elect Culp! Grab your favorite cowboy hat and boots and join us at this fun annual event that’s been happening here at my Shangri-La Farm for the past nine years. The event features a delicious cowboy dinner and homemade pie! Don’t forget to bring your $5 bills to play Chicken Bingo! You could win half the pot! The other half will be donated to Options 360, a local non-profit agency that is saving lives of local babies by offering a safe alternative to Planned Parenthood. Options 360 was selected by our membership to be the recipient of this year’s CCRW Impact Award. If you would like to attend the Hootenanny for Freedom on Wednesday, September 16th at my Shangri-La Farm, please don’t delay! There are only a few tickets left. Advanced online registration is required. To purchase tickets, visit ClarkCountyRepublicanWomen.org. Thank you to all the members who attended our recent CCRW Membership Appreciation Dinner last month. A great time was had by all. Thanks to all our great volunteers listed on page 7 who helped out! I want to give a special shout out to my CCRW Vice Presidents! They both rock! First Vice President Karen Bowerman crushed her two opponents in the August Primary in her bid to be the next Clark County Council Member from District 3. In many regards, I view Karen’s race as the most significant along with Culp and Trump on our November ballot. When Karen wins, she will create a conservative majority on the County Council. Think of all the great improvements Karen will make working with Councilor Gary Medvigy and Chair Eileen Quiring. Additionally, Second Vice President Liz Cline has been working very hard to successfully recruit about a dozen new members to our organization. Thank you Liz! You are on fire! I love the energy and enthusiasm that Liz Cline brings to Clark County Republican Women. With Liz Cline’s efforts, we have experienced a huge surge in new memberships. Let’s keep it rolling. Republican candidates need our support all the way to the finish line on November 3rd. A larger membership base helps us achieve our stated mission of electing more Republicans! Thank you to new CCRW member Helen Sudbeck! Helen stepped out of her comfort zone to organize a hugely successful Blue Rally to honor our local law enforcement last Friday night in downtown Camas. The turnout was monumental. What struck me was the number of young people displaying Trump flags, American flags and pro-police signs. It warmed my heart to see hundreds of people coming together to thank our men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line every day to keep us all safe. Great job Helen! Lastly, thank you for putting your trust in the CCRW leadership team. I’m so excited to report that ours is now the largest Republican Women’s organization in Washington State. I don’t know where we would be without Anna Miller, our hardworking Secretary/Membership Chair and Nicole Wubben, our skilled and professional treasurer! Your board continues to work extremely hard to represent you well. Thanks again for allowing us to serve you! I hope to see you at the farm on September 16th. Be sure to see the flyer on page 4 for important parking and shuttle details.

Yours in service, Liz Pike, President of CCRW 3 September, TRUMP 2020

Bowerman Report By Karen Bowerman, CCRW First Vice President

First, a Report on your County Republican Party

At the quarterly Clark County Republican Central Committee meeting last weekend, every single state-wide candidate who made it through the Primary from Culp all the way down the ballot, appeared before our PCOs and requested endorsement! It was a wonderful opportunity to hear them all in an informal, supportive setting and it reinforced how proud we are to be Republicans! Vote, and vote R! Most of you heard Loren Culp at our 2019 Lincoln Day Gala, and I must say that every time I hear him he is more polished than before – but still totally genuine. What a contrast with Governor Inslee.

Treasurer’s Message By Nicole Wubben, CCRW Treasurer Happy Autumn to all our Republican women and men friends! As you know, CCRW has hosted several mission critical events this year including the 2020 Winning Strategies Campaign School, the July Gubernatorial forum for Republican candidates and our annual Membership Appreciation Dinner. All of these events required an expenditure of CCRW funds. Not having Club Green Meadows to rely on, we had to think outside the box. Thankfully, we have Liz Pike and her Shangri-La Farm to stage these successful events. I’m proud of our CCRW board! They’ve exercised prudent budgeting and spending on all three events and as a result, our organization continues to remain in solid financial condition. Here at CCRW, we don’t rest on our laurels. We have been busy planning our next event. I hope you have your tickets for the September 16th Hootenanny for Freedom featuring Loren Culp who we hope will be our next Governor! I hope to see you there.

Membership Update By Anna Miller, CCRW Membership Chair and Secretary

Congratulations to Clark County Republican Women! We not only exceeded our 2020 membership goal of 100 members, but we are now the largest in Washington State! Our membership drive slogan is “Be One, Bring One.” Clearly, our members have taken this to heart! Each week, we have new members signing up. Our Membership Renewal Form is on Page 6. If you have questions about membership, please call me at (360) 600-6668. If you don’t see your name listed on page10, it means we have not received your 2020 membership dues. We want you back! It’s easy to register online at ClarkCountyRepublicanWomen.org. Simply click on the join button. During these strange times, I hope and pray that you and your families are healthy and productive. I look forward to seeing all of our CCRW friends at the Hootenanny for Freedom on September 16th. Starting in October, we will be launching our 2021 membership drive. See our October CCRW newsletter for all the details.

Nominations Open for CCRW Officers

Per CCRW Bylaws, we elect new officers each year for staggered two-year terms. This November, we will vote for a First Vice President and Secretary. Our nominating committee consisting of Treasurer Nicole Wubben, Second Vice President Liz Cline and Silent Auction Chairman Diana Hogg met virtually to officially and unanimously nominate Karen Bowerman for First Vice President and Anna Miller for Secretary. Both currently serve in these positions and are willing to continue their service to the members of Clark County Republican Women. Nominations are now officially open for these positions by any CCRW member in good standing. If you wish to make a nomination for either First Vice President or Secretary, please send it in writing to [email protected]. The deadline for nominations is September 30, 2020.

Hopefully, Club Green Meadows will be reopened in November so that our final CCRW meeting of the year can happen in person. Elections will be conducted at this dinner meeting, or if that is not possible, an electronic vote by email will be utilized. Thank you for your patience and understanding. 6 September, TRUMP 2020
