The matchup will be nationally televised on ESPN2 with kickoff set for shortly after 7 p.m. CDT. Radio The two programs have combined for 10 national championships, including eight since 1983. Nebraska won its third national championship and first under Tom Osborne in 1994 by defeating Miami in the Orange Bowl. The 20th Husker Sports Network anniversary of that national championship will be honored in Lincoln this weekend. Miami also clinched three of its Greg Sharpe, Play-by-Play five national titles with wins over Nebraska in bowl games between 1983 and 2001. Matt Davison, Analyst The 2014 Huskers will look to complete non-conference play unbeaten for the first time since 2011. Nebraska Lane Grindle, Sidelines improved to 3-0 on the season with a 55-19 rout of Fresno State on the road Saturday night. The Huskers showed their explosiveness in the win, recording four scoring plays of 50 yards or more. Digital Media Saturday’s game is the first of a home-and-home series with the Hurricanes. Nebraska will play at Miami on Sept. Huskers.com 19, 2015, to complete the two-game non-conference series. His 61 wins trail only Osborne and Devaney on the NU wins list. Pelini joins Satellite Radio Alabama’s Nick Saban as the only head coaches in the nation to win nine or more games each of the past six seasons. Golden has guided Miami to a 24-16 record in his tenure including a trip to the Russell Athletic Bowl in 2013. Golden previously served as the head coach at Temple from 2006 to 2010, and has stints as an assistant at Virginia, Boston College and Penn State. Tommy Armstrong Jr.–9 carries, 65 yards NU Passing Leader 4 Sophomore quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. completed 12-of-21 passes for 260 yards and a career-high three Tommy Armstrong Jr.–12-21-0, 260 yards, 3 TD (career high) touchdowns. Armstrong opened the night with a 70-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Westerkamp on the game’s NU Receiving Leaders fourth play, Armstrong’s longest completion in a regular-season game and second-longest completion of his career. Abdullah’s 57-yard run was a season long and his third run of at least 30 yards in 2014. 2014 Big Ten Standings 4 With his 110 rushing yards, Abdullah increased his career rushing total to 3,373 rushing yards, moving him into West Division the top five on the Nebraska career rushing list. Abdullah passed Rex Burkhead (3,329) against Fresno State. Records 4 Abdullah finished the game with 110 all-purpose yards, increasing his career total to 5,449 yards. Abdullah moved Team Big Ten Overall Next Game up to second place on the NU career all-purpose yards list, passing Mike Rozier (5,445) for the No. 2 spot.
