Taarak Mehta's Inverted Spectacles) is an Indian Television Comedy in Hindi, ; based on Taarak Mehta's weekly column called Duniya Ne Undha Chasma in Chitralekha. One of India's longest-running television shows, it is produced by Neela Tele Films. [2] It premiered on 28 November 2005. Summary The series takes place at the Gokuldham Co- operative Housing Society, an apartment complex in Powder Gal, Goregaon East, Mumbai (also known as Mini India) and centers around members of the Gokuldahm Society. The Gada family consists of successful businessman Jethalal Champaklal Gada, his father Champaklali, wife Daya Gada and their naughty son Tipendra Tapu Gada, the leader of his circle of friends named Tapu Sena. Fed up hearing regular complaints from members of society about the threat his son created, Jethalal decides to call his father Champaklal to keep an eye on Tapua, but the opposite happens, and he joins hands with Tanu. Most of the episodes are based on Jethalal getting stuck in a problem and Taarak Mehta, his best friend, whom he calls his fire brigade, helping him with it. The exhibition covers topical issues that are socially relevant. The people of Gokuldham face everyday life problems and find solutions to it, but with moral value in a hilarious way. Although the Gokuldham Society consists of 50 apartments, the exhibition focuses mostly on the lives of families who are; Jethalal Champaklal Gada, owner of the electricity store bhachau; Taarak Mehta, Jethalal's best friend and famous writer from Rajasthan; Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide, sole secretary and tutor of the Gokuldham Society from Ratnagir; Dr. Hansraj Hathi, an overweight doctor from Bihar. Krishnan Iyer, a junior scientist from Chennai, but has a wife, Bengali; Roshan Singh Sodhi, owner of punjab garage in Punjab, who has a wife Parsi, is also named Roshan Sodhi and Popatlal Panday, bachelor editor from Bhopal, a news reporter from Toofan Express. They always each other in their problems in order to promote the unity of diversity. Nniiden Nniiden Gokuldham celebrates all festivals together like family-like Ganesha Chaturthi, Janamashathmi, Independence Day, Diwali, Navratri, New Year, Christmas, etc. The responsibility for organising these events is often in Tapu Sena's arms.
