After recently graduating from the Glasgow Academy of Music and Sound, Amelia is set to release her first album, 'Bonnie Songs from the West of Scotland’. Inspired by her local surroundings, the album will be a tribute to the local area featuring songs like Ae Fond Kiss by Robert Burns, Rothesay O' and Song O' the Clyde. The album will be the first insight into Amelia's folk roots and features the songs she grew up hearing and singing. She has captivated the essence of these well-known traditional folk songs and brought them into the twenty-first century with a beautiful live sound and gentle instrumentation. The songs perfectly showcase her soft voice and a stunning musical performance from her and her band. The album is set to be launch on the 2nd of December at The Sangha House, Taunton and will be available on presale at www.ameliajocelyn.com. It will be made officially available for purchase on major platforms on the 12th of December. Musical Influences Amelia has many influences including Jack Savoretti, Norah Jones and Paolo Nutini which can be heard in her first release 'I Hear Rumours', an EP of original songs. She has more recently been influenced by the likes of Eva Cassidy and Eddi Reader as she revisits her folk upbringing. Amelia can be heard playing venues across Central Scotland including The Beacon Theatre, Greenock, The Classic Grand, Glasgow and Bute Brewery. She is planning to tour the UK next year.
