HOPE (HELPING ORPHANS BY PROVIDING EDUCATION & EMPOWERMENT) PROGRAMME is a fundraising programme. It is initiated by Shohratgarh Environmental Society [SES]. The focus of programme is on empowering orphan by providing education with support of community worldwide.

BACKGROUND

Think of a life, where you do not have parents or family. You do not have any shelter or home to live and any source of livelihood. Certainly, you don’t want such bizarre situation at any point of your lives. The number of orphans in stands at approx. 47 percent out of a total of about 55 millions children of ages 0-12 years, and an overall population of 150 millions. Today, orphans remain a burden of extended families although most of these are living from hand to mouth, in a situation like that; these families who can hardly take care of their own children naturally find it almost impossible to take in an extra child. Such a school named – Brahmrishi Bawra Siddharth Vidyapeeth is established by Sri Chandresh Shastri in Uska bazaar block of district (). Siddharthnagar is one of the backward district of India .Most of people are dependent on agriculture or unskillful work. They have no choices in life.

People who are educated and can think about what is right and what is wrong will obey the rules and be of benefit to society. people who are poor and have no education have no choices, no discrimination between what is right and what is wrong, they don’t know how to take care of themselves or their family; they can become thieves, criminals- a problem to society. For orphans the situation is even more difficult. They have no one to properly care for them; they are without home, without basic livelihood and without opportunities. So, it is more meaningful and urgent to build school to care for the orphan children. Through it orphans can have a good life and good care, can receive proper education and become good people who will know how to take care of themselves and others. For orphans the situation is even more difficult. With education and useful skills they can do whatever they want, otherwise they have no choice in life. If they want to do business they will be equipped to do it well. If they want to pursue higher education they will have the necessary knowledge, if they want to work for the government they can do the job well. Their knowledge and values will be passed on to their own children. In this way the school will gradually benefit the whole of society.

WHO BENEFITS FROM THE SCHOOL?

Firstly, the school benefits the orphans by giving them a warm home and a chance to develop themselves. School’s positive influence will extend to the local community - by providing jobs and transferring the knowledge - and serve as a model of effective and relevant education in rural areas. in addition everyone involved - working staff, volunteers and supporters - will benefit through gaining new experience, through making life meaningful by helping others, through establishing close and personal connections spanning across boundaries of cultures and nations.
