Richard Jacobus, a long time member, unexpectedly passed away at 75 on July 3, 2018. He loved cars even as a child and throughout his life he owned over 100 of them. Working on his cars, going to car shows, and auctions brought him so much joy. His favorites included his RollRoyce and DeSoto. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

KRROC EVENTS FUTURE & PAST

The 2019 National Spring Tour April 28 to May 3, 2019

The 2019 national Spring Tour will be held in the southeast part of Chesapeake Region. Phil and Sue Brooks will be hosting the tour based in Williamsburg, VA from April 28 to May 3. While Williamsburg will be the hub location we will not be visiting Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, or Yorktown. However tour participants may arrive a couple of days early or stay over a couple of days at the end if they wish to take in the "Historic Triangle".

This will be a hub tour where we stay at the same hotel for the week and each day go out to different attractions. We will visit a couple of plantations, a native American reservation, a car collection, and a fort from the early 1800s, and we will drive a race track (at less than hair raising speeds!) It will be back roads driving for almost the entire week. There will be an opening and closing dinner and group lunches each day. Other dinners are on your own. Registration forms will be available early in the New Year and registrations will all be done through Club HQ. This will be an inexpensive tour with a low registration fee and very reasonable hotel rates. There will be a limit of 30 cars and approximately 60 people. READ MORE

PA's Best Auto Shops: New Analysis Compares Cost, Quality

Nearly 400 auto repair shops in the Delaware Valley have been evaluated based on quality and price. How does your mechanic compare?

In an age of selfpiloting cars and computerized features, many things can still go wrong with your car. That means drivers still rely on human mechanics to keep their rides rolling.

Unfortunately, the nonprofit Delaware Valley Consumers' Checkbook finds many repair shops disappoint their customers; they do lousy work, impose long delays, sell unnecessary repairs, give inaccurate estimates. But not all shops are lemons: Plenty almost always perform topquality work quickly and for a fair price. CLICK HERE & HERE for additional details

Why muscle cars aren't gaining in the collector car market

As we look at yet another Hagerty Vehicle Rating list that holds some of the most legendary muscle cars and firebreathing sports cars in the bottom 25, we have to remember that a car's position in the list isn't a critique of its value or collectability.

For our latest Hagerty Vehicle Rating, our Valuation team studied a variety of factors, including auction sale results and insurance quoting activity, to gauge a vehicle's popularity compared to the overall collector car market. Weighted with all of those variables, each car is assigned a score from 1to100, with a 50 denoting a car that's perfectly following the overall market trend, with those falling behind scoring lower. http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?m=1102549439164&ca=41078c011d3e44398fe90d6a2dce2e81 5/14 3/1/2019 RollsRoyce Club Alerts MARCH 2019 CLICK HERE for more

How to Pick the Right Motor Oil for Your Car

There are many choices when it comes to picking the appropriate oil for your car's engine. Our guide breaks down your choices to help you in the quest to change your oil.

Given all the motor oil options out there, choosing the right oil for your car might seem like an impossibly daunting task. While there is a mountain of info to learn about the various oil choices, the first step is honestly quite simple: Look in the manual. Your car's owner's manual will list the recommended oil weight, whether that's a standard like 10W30 or something more unusual. Later on, we'll explain what that weight means and how you should adjust it based on the seasons. CLICK HERE for more

ROLLSROYCE NEWS

The RollsRoyce Cullinan SUV Will Not Be Ignored

BACK WHEN TIGERS were plentiful and RollsRoyces were rare, the rajahs of India would commission special hunting cars, from which their owners could comfortably blast away at charismatic megafauna. The most famous such car is a 1925 Barkerbodied Phantom I, owned by Maharajah of Kotah, Umed Singh II. His Highness's Roller was built on a raised chassis and was powered by an 8liter in linesix and fourspeed gearbox, with a lowspeed ratio for offroading. It towed an antiaircraft machine gun for extra big game. Nice.

And so in a way RollsRoyce has returned to form with the 2019 Cullinan, the British firm's new SUV for a new generation of deadeyed aristocracy. READ MORE

RollsRoyce Holding On To V12 For 'As Long As Possible'

The brand's CEO also confirms Rolls will skip the hybridization process.

Downsizing. The single word that probably terrifies every gearhead around the world the most. It's the process of reducing the displacement of internal combustion engines and adding various technologies to ensure both power and efficiency are great. That's on theory and in reality things are a bit different, but even behemoths like the BMW 7 Series are not immune. Rumor has it the flagship Bavarian will ditch the V8 and V12 engines for its next generation in favor of electrified sixcylinder units. Fortunately, RollsRoyce, a brand that's also under BMW Group's umbrella, won't follow the same path. At least for now. RollsRoyce is currently working on these cars. READ MORE

TEST DRIVE: Rolls Royce Cullinan Don't Call it an SUV

In almost every single news article or review of the Rolls Royce Cullinan, there's some sort of reference to it being the brand's firstever SUV or how heretical such an idea is for a brand like Rolls Royce. I'm every bit as guilty as the rest of the journalists that do so. However, those takes are all nonsense, including my own, and I realize this now. After having driven it, and spent some time riding in the back , I can say with http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?m=1102549439164&ca=41078c011d3e44398fe90d6a2dce2e81 7/14 3/1/2019 RollsRoyce Club Alerts MARCH 2019 absolute confidence that the Cullinan is no longer allowed to be called an SUV because it's neither a sport or utility vehicle. It's just a Rolls Royce that can now go further than ever before. READ MORE

BENTLEY BENTAYGA SPEED: MEET THE WORLD'S FASTEST SUV

The Bentley Bentayga Speed has a powerful 6.0liter engine. Luxury appointments include a unique Alcantara interior trim. The carbon ceramic braking system is nothing short of impressive.

The new Bentley Bentayga Speed is now the fastest production SUV in the world. Yes, I know, that's kind of like setting a record for steam trains or something, but there you are. Just how fast, anyway? The top speed is 190 mph, and it can hit 62 mph in 3.9 seconds. Which is impressive in its own right, and even more so when you realize the new Bentayga Speed weighs (checks notes) . . . huh, Bentley doesn't say. READ MORE
