Traditionally, urban-rural fringe areas are identified using statistical analysis methods that consider indexes from single or multiple factors, such as population densities, the ratio of building land, the proportion of the non-agricultural population, and economic levels. However, these methods have limitations, for example, the statistical data are not continuous, the statistical standards are not uniform, the data is seldom available in real time, and it is difficult to avoid issues on the statistical effects from edges of administrative regions or express the internal differences of these areas. This paper proposes a convenient approach to identify the urban-rural fringe using nighttime light data of DMSP/OLS images. First, a light characteristics–combined value model was built in ArcGIS 10.3, and the combined characteristics of light intensity and the degree of light intensity fluctuation are analyzed in the urban, urban-rural fringe, and rural areas.

  • On C-E Translation of Beijing Subway Stations Names Under Skopos Theory
US-China Foreign Language, June 2019, Vol. 17, No. 6, 297-304 doi:10.17265/1539-8080/2019.06.005 D DAVID PUBLISHING On C-E Translation of Beijing Subway Stations Names Under Skopos Theory LYU Liangqiu, LYU Shang North China Electric Power University, Beijing, China With the increasing international exchanges, the subway station’s English name is playing an increasingly important role in transportation. Based on the problems in the current English translation found in the investigation, this paper attempts to retranslate the problematic station names from the perspective of Skopos Theory. Finally, it is expected to propose suggestions and enlightenment for the standardization of subway stations’ English translation. Keywords: Beijing subway stations names, translation, Skopos Theory Introduction With close international exchanges, there are more and more foreigners in Beijing. Subway is progressively significant for their travel, so the English name of the subway station has also become a business card in Beijing. Beijing subway has 22 lines and 391 stations with a total length of 637 kilometers, which is of great importance in Beijing transportation. It is worth noting that there are still many irregularities in the current English names. For example, the translation of similar names is not uniform, and the inaccurate translation results are difficult in understanding. These irregularities will not only cause confusion for foreigners but also damage Beijing’s international image. Therefore, based on the Skopos Theory, this paper aims to retranslate subway station names with classification, and hopes to provide some reference for the English translation of the subway station. Features of Beijing Subway Station Translation The translation of Beijing subway station names is fairly essential.

This paper takes Beijing’s districts and counties as the research object and establishes economic development index of Beijing’s districts and counties. Introduction The economy of Beijing has maintained sustainable, rapid and healthy development since 2006. The economic development of each district and each county maintain a certain growth, but the development speed of each district and each county are not the same, for example the highest average annual growth rate of per capital GDP is Shunyi District and reached 32.08% from 2006 to 2009 and the lowest is Shijingshan District and reached 1.78%. Therefore there are certain differences among districts and counties in Beijing. This paper establishes economic development evaluation index system about Beijing’s districts and counties. It takes 14 districts and 2 counties adjusted in 2010 as research objects.

  • Study on the Characteristics of Beijing Subsidence Based on Ps- Insar/Leveling and Primary Investigation of the Relationship with Fault Zone
The International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, Volume XLIII-B3-2021 XXIV ISPRS Congress (2021 edition) STUDY ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF BEIJING SUBSIDENCE BASED ON PS- INSAR/LEVELING AND PRIMARY INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP WITH FAULT ZONE WANG Xiaoqing, ZHANG Peng, WANG Yongshang, SUN Zhanyi Dept of Geodesy, National Geomatics Center of China, China-(xqwang, zhangpeng, szy, wys)@ngcc.cn KEY WORDS: Beijing land subsidence, PS-InSAR, levelling, features study, fault zone. ABSTRACT: The severe land subsidence could lead to ground collapse, building damage and a series of disasters. Up to now, the land subsidence has occurred in more than 50 cities in China, which seriously affects the life and production safety of local people and restricts the development of cities. While, Beijing is one of the most serious cities. This paper takes the urban area of Beijing as an example. PS- InSAR technology is used to process 40 scenes of Terra SAR images from 2010 to 2015, and the high-coherence points are selected by fusing the two algorithms of coherence coefficient and amplitude deviation. In order to verify the reliability of the results, the second-level measurement results are compared with the PS-InSAR deformation results, and five leveling points are used to evaluate the accuracy. The results show that: the maximum absolute error between the Leveling results and the InSAR measurement result is 8.87mm, and the standard error is 3.22mm, which meets the accuracy requirements. And areas with serious subsidence occur in Changping District, Haidian District, Daxing District, and Chaoyang District; there is no obvious subsidence trend in the central and eastern parts of Dongcheng, Xicheng and Fengtai District, and the surface is relatively stable.
