A. Goals: - To learn how to take quality landscape photography images - To continue to experiment with and point of view shooting techniques - To experiment with HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography - To learn how can be utilized while shooting - To continue practicing focusing, and treatment techniques

B. Subject Requirements:

1. 15 final landscape shots a. 2 shots must be HDR’s with 3 or more frames to each picture b. 5 shots must be with a macro setting or close up macro or c. 5 shots must be Great Depth of Field d. 3 shots must be Shallow Depth of Field 2. 3 or more frames must be shot Vertically 3. Shoot all Images in RAW or Raw/ JPEG mode- Highest File size you have 4. Your CHOICE of SUBJECT! 5. Create a Folder and place your Top 15 images in that folder- Including 6 more images for the 2 HDR Pictures= 21 images total 6. Label all shots according to the a. through d. Requirements above! 7. Place Folder in the P-drive for grading By ______.

C. Notes on Shooting Landscape Photography  Use a tri-pod for all shots  Use self-timer or release cable  Set File Size to Raw or JPEG/Raw  Research good shooting VENUES and visit them more than once  Use some of the following Composition TECHNIQUES: ( and Composition notes folder) READ AND OR VIEW EVERY PAGE! o Using Foreground o Using Background o Telephoto Verses Wide Angle Lens FRAMING o Fish Eye Lens- dramatic and over exaggerate the composition – great depth o Composition Variations-Triangles, Diagonals, Symmetry, Positive/ Shapes, Spatial and Psychological Tension, Copy and Flip Digital images, Harmony, Dynamic Range, Positioning, Framing, Point of Focus, Rule of Thirds, Counter Balance, Complementary , Rhythm  Remember Photo Techniques: Worms Eye, Birds Eye, Rule of Thirds, Vertical Shooting, Point of View  Use a Special Filter: to create effect before you put it in Photoshop o Polarizing, Neutral, Graduated Filters, Infered, Macro and more…  Choosing a View point  The Weather - Time of Day- shoot at dusk and dawn  People in landscape  Landscape  Seascapes, Skys and Waterways  Buildings- Architecture Ideas  Reflections  Autumn and Winter  Shoot in Priority Mode to get the Depth of Field ( great, shallow, get rid of )  HDR (HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE) - lessons and handouts on the following ways to properly shoot HDR and the Programs and Filters used to enhance and make the final print compliment the subject and composition!
