UNIFORM STANDARDS Of the LONE STAR GRAND COMMANDERY ORDER of the KNIGHTS TEMPLAR (PRINCE HALL AFFILIATED) To: R: E: Grand Commander Ronald Gerac, In turn: The Uniform Committee of the Lone Star Grand Commandery, Order of the Knights Templar of the Jurisdiction of Texas. Submitted November 2011 TO: All Grand Commandery Officers, Eminent Commanders, Generalissimos, Captain Generals, and Sir Knights of their Constituent Commanderies Subject: Uniform Codes Rational: All Sir Knights within the jurisdiction of the Lone Star Grand Commandery pledged to obtain their full uniform within two (2) years of joining the Order. If you have not done so and it has been more than two (2) years since you were dubbed a Knight Templar, you are in violation of your pledge to the Lone Star Grand Commandery. Addendum: edict 20110213-02; The first three constitutionally-elected officers of a constituent Commandery, namely the Eminent Commander, Generalissimo, and Captain-General, must, within ninety (90) days of their election, secure (or be in the process of securing) a regulation uniform to include chapeau, dress uniform, sword, sword belt, and buff gloves. Should one of these officers not be in right standing with this edict, said officer shall be subject to removal from office and replaced with a Sir Knight who shall make himself amenable to the 90-day mandate as well Dress Uniform (Frock Coat/Short Coat): Frock coat (18 buttons) Short coat (12 buttons) The Dress Uniform is a black frock coat or regular black suit coat (or nehru style stand up collar) with two rows of gold Knights Templar Buttons. -

All rights reserved IAM Policy 2016 1 IAM Strategy 2016 version 1.1 (August) IAM Strategy Our Vision is: To be recognised as the leading, international, professional body for asset management Context The IAM’s ‘Strategy’ explains our long-term approach to achieving our aims, fulfilling our Vision and ‘how’ we plan to deliver our goals and objectives. It is aligned with the IAM’s Policy and Strategic Plan (see document hierarchy below). Our Strategy provides guidance for directing the Institute and its activities over the longer- term. It looks beyond the business planning horizon, embodied in our Strategic Plan. Our rolling ‘Strategic Plan’ looks three years ahead and is revised every year. It describes our current priorities and how we shall achieve our Strategy. The IAM’s Annual Business Plan comprises the collated Chapter Business Plans, Committee / Project Action Plans and the IAM Centre / Office budget, for the coming Financial Year (Jan – Dec). The Professional Association and Learned Society The IAM is both a Learned Society and Professional Association. Business planning follows this pattern by managing a Technical & Commercial ‘business’ and a Membership ‘business’. The Membership business is cost-neutral and subscriptions fund member services such as a magazine; whilst our Learned Society objectives are delivered by a Technical & Commercial ‘business’: focused on creating and delivering knowledge in many forms and delivering a range of events, publications, examinations, projects and other services. -

111 Freemasonry and civil society: reform of manners and the Journal fuÈr Freymaurer (1784-1786) ANDREAS OÈ NNERFORS Freemasonry as a tool of moral improvement In 1784 the Bohemian mineralogist Ignaz von Born, in his capacity as master of the Masonic lodge Zur wahren Eintracht [True Union] in Vienna, took the initiative to publish the ®rst successful Masonic period- ical in Europe, the Journal fuÈr Freymaurer.1 It was subsequently edited in twelve quarterly volumes, with an average of 250 pages, printed in 1000 copies and disseminated across the entire Habsburg Monarchy, a vast undertaking, bearing in mind the transport infrastructure of the eight- eenth century. The journal contained extensive treatments of religious traditions resembling Freemasonry, essays on Masonic virtues and values, reviews of Masonic literature, poetry and Masonic news from all parts of Europe. But a signi®cant number of the essays included in the journal also covered the impact of Freemasonry on society. The Masonic move- ment interpreted itself as a moral force with the potential to transform manners for the universal bene®t and improvement of society and mankind. Born wrote in his address to readers that, within the Order of Freemasons, freedom of thought and equality of all natural rights was a fundamental law. Hence, it was a right to communicate the results of such free deliberation to fellow brethren.2 Based upon a series of essays focusing on the moral aspects of Freemasonry, this article attempts to outline the content of these `free deliberations' that only a few years before the French Revolution read surprisingly radical, especially in the context of the Habsburg Monarchy. -

Written evidence submitted by Professor Colin Riordan, Vice-Chancellor, Cardiff University (SPF0020) Overview i. Cardiff University is an ambitious and innovative university with a bold and strategic vision. Our world-leading research was ranked 5th for quality and 2nd for impact amongst UK universities in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. We provide an educationally outstanding experience for our students. Driven by creativity and curiosity, we strive to fulfil our social, cultural and economic obligations to Cardiff, Wales, the UK and wider world. ii. Regional economic performance and social cohesion are factors crucial to the UK and Wales’s post- Brexit success and in emerging and rebuilding from the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be essential to address causes of disparities in prosperity and development (such as skills, innovation and the quality of place-based institutions) and not just focus on symptoms (such as unemployment). iii. The Shared Prosperity Fund comes at a crucial time for the Welsh economy and for Welsh universities. It offers a unique, generational opportunity to create a programme of investment that is designed and delivered in Wales, for Wales. The Fund is not and should not be simply about replacing the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF). iv. We believe a Shared Prosperity Fund must: Be ‘devolved by design’ Match current regional investment funding Allocate funding to Wales appropriately via a needs-based system Ring-fence funds to build research and innovation capacity Take a wider view of development, learning from the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and recognising universities’ civic mission Run on a long-term basis (seven years as a minimum). -

SUPP. 1990, SECTION 195.5), WHICH RELATES TO AWARDS AND DECORATIONS BESTOWED UPON THE NATIONAL GUARD; PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL AWARDS, MEDALS AND RIBBONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 44 O.S. 1981, Section 195.5, as amended by Section 8, Chapter 210, O.S.L. 1986 (44 O.S. Supp. 1990, Section 195.5), is amended to read as follows: Section 195.5 The following awards and decorations are hereby created and established and shall be bestowed upon the federally recognized officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel of the Oklahoma National Guard under the conditions and in the manner provided in this act. (a) An Oklahoma Distinguished Service Cross which may be awarded to any eligible person who shall perform at great personal danger and risk of life or limb in the line of military duty any act of heroism designed to protect life or property or who while on active state duty during a period of martial law shall perform such acts over and beyond the call of duty which act, danger or risk he could have failed to perform or incur without being subject to censure for neglect of duty. (b) An Oklahoma Distinguished Service Medal which may be awarded to any eligible person who, as a member of the Oklahoma National Guard, shall perform unusually distinguished and meritorious service which to a marked degree is reflected in the increased efficiency and growth of the Oklahoma National Guard or which brings exceptional honor and credit to the Oklahoma National Guard and commands the attention and respect of the citizens of the state and of members of the military establishment of the United States. -
