`WARD AFFECTED : Park LICENSING COMMITTEE 10 June 2002 REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES Tiger Tiger, Unit B3, Chapel Quarter, Nottingham Application for Provisional licence SUMMARY This is an application for a provisional licence. RECOMMENDATIONS The committee is requested to determine the application. BACKGROUND The committee will recall that at the meetings on 8 and 11 April 2002 an application for a provisional entertainment licence in respect of the above premises was refused. A new application has now been made by Nicholas Tamblyn to provide music and dancing as follows: - • Mondays to Saturdays from 11am to 2am; • Sundays from noon to 12.30am the following day; and • Sundays preceding bank holidays (excluding Easter) from noon to 2am the following day. The Fire Officer has given the premises a maximum occupancy of 1702 people excluding staff made up as follows: Ground floor 816 First floor 886 Other venues are operated under the Tiger Tiger name by Chorion plc in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Leeds and Newcastle. The venues are targeted at clients in the 25 plus age group, and a dress code is imposed. The proposal is that the Nottingham venue will operate in a similar manner to those existing but with changes made as a result of experiences gained as venues are operated. Specifically it is proposed that the premises open at 11.30-12 noon. Drawings accompanying the application are available for the Committee to refer to. The location of the premises is shown on the attached map. The Chief Fire Officer has made recommendations regarding fire precautions within the proposed premises. -
