Quinceañeras Next weekend is Divine Mercy Sunday when our Lord promised to St. Faustina Sr. Theresa Betz Spiritual Direction that the floodgates of His mercy would be opened to all who seek it. He asks only Silvia Rivera Religious Education that we ask for His mercy, be merciful to others, and completely trust in His Assistant (Records) mercy. This week, we will offer the Novena at 3:00pm, the hour of mercy, in our Preschool beautiful Santo Niño Shrine. The Novena will culminate next Sunday, Divine Abbie Johnson Director Mercy Sunday, with the Holy Mass at 3:00pm followed by the chaplet and Mindy Geer Assistant Director consecration before the Eucharistic Lord. Rite of Blessing and Sprinkling of Water Priest: Dear brothers and sisters, let us humbly beseech the Lord our God to bless this water he has created, which will be sprinkled on us as a memorial of our Baptism. May he help us by his grace to remain faithful to the spirit we have received.

Lord our God, in your mercy be present to your people’s prayers, and for us, who recall the wondrous work of our creation and the still greater work of our redemption, graciously bless (+) this water.

For you created water to make the fields fruitful and to refresh and cleanse our bodies. You also made water the instrument of your mercy: for through water you freed your people from slavery and quenched their thirst in the desert; through water the Prophets proclaimed the new covenant you were to enter upon with the human race; and last of all, through water, which Christ made holy in the Jordan, you have renewed our corrupted nature in the bath of regeneration.

LITURGY OF THE WORD (sit) AID WORSHIP God speaks to us through His Word, opening to us the mystery of redemption and salvation, and offering spiritual nourishment. So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb. They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first; he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in. When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there, and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place. Renewal of Baptismal Promises (Stand) Baptism constitutes the doorway to salvation, and is the first of the Sacraments of Initiation. So now we are asked to renew the baptismal promises first made by our parents on the day of our baptism.

Priest: Dear brothers and sisters, through the Paschal Mystery we have been buried with Christ in Baptism, so that we may walk with him in newness of life. And so, now that our Lenten observance is concluded, let us renew the promises of Holy Baptism, by which we once renounced Satan and his works and promised to serve God in the holy Catholic Church. And so I ask you: Priest: Do you renounce Satan? All: I do. Priest: And all his works? All: I do. Priest: And all his empty promises?

All: I do. WORSHIPAID Priest: Do you believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth? All: I do. LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST (Sit) Made ready by reflection on God's Word, we enter now into the Eucharistic sacrifice itself, the Supper of the Lord. We celebrate the memorial which the Lord instituted at his Last Supper. We are God's new people, the redeemed brothers and sisters of Christ, gathered by Him around His table. We are here to bless God and to receive the gift of Jesus' Body and Blood so that our faith and life may be transformed.

The Eucharistic Prayer (Stand)

The Eucharist is the sacrament in which we receive the Body and Blood of Christ. The word Eucharist means “to give thanks.” We now begin the Eucharistic service of praise and thanksgiving, the center of the entire celebration. At the priest’s invitation, we lift our hearts to God and unite with him in the words he addresses to the Father through Jesus Christ. Together, we join Christ in acknowledging with him the wonderful works of God in our lives. The celebration of the Eucharist is at the heart of the Church’s life.

This year we had nearly 1,000 children that were served. Already we have registered over 400 children for 2019-2020 and we anticipate that next year we will exceed this number. We need YOU to help us prepare all those children and adults who come to us this year seeking to know God better. Have you thought about sharing your faith with others? Are you looking for a creative and fun way to serve our Lord? Perhaps you would consider being a teacher of the faith to the children!? We are happy to have learned about Lent and the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus paid because of the amount of love he has for us. We read and discussed the Easter Story, visited the church to learn prayers and about the Stations of the Cross. What a feeling of grace to know that Jesus cared for us so much. The preschool will be closed next week (April 22nd - 26th) and classes will resume on Monday, April 29, 2019. May you and your family thoroughly enjoy this Easter Season!
