Avenged Sevenfold Announced As Second Headliner for Download Festival 2018
UNDER STRICT EMBARGO UNTIL 9AM 08.11.17 #DL2018 8-10 JUNE 2018 AVENGED SEVENFOLD ANNOUNCED AS SECOND HEADLINER FOR DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 2018 CHART TOPPING HARD ROCK BAND AVENGED SEVENFOLD RETURN TO THE UK’S PREMIER ROCK EVENT TO HEADLINE ALONGSIDE OZZY OSBOURNE Download Festival, the world’s premier rock event, has today announced the second of its three headliners as one of the world’s biggest rock bands Avenged Sevenfold. The three-day festival takes place 8 – 10 June 2018 at the spiritual home of rock in Donington Park, Leicestershire. Tickets available now at downloadfestival.co.uk/tickets. Avenged Sevenfold will return to Download Festival once more, to give a momentous Friday night headline performance that will be talked about for years to come. This announcement comes days after it was revealed that the Prince Of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne will also be headlining. From the genre-defining metal-core album City Of Evil, the hard rock UK No.1 Hail To The King, through to the latest progressive-metal sounds of The Stage; Avenged Sevenfold have an epic history of modern metal classics, a stage show to make Rammstein jealous and a proven track record of smashing anything that comes their way. Download Festival’s Promoter, Andy Copping said: “A real career highlight of mine was giving Avenged Sevenfold their first ever UK festival headline slot, and I’m thrilled to welcome them back. You don’t often see bands like Avenged Sevenfold top the charts, but much like seeing them live, they’re not to be underestimated.” Download Festival is the home of rock music and takes place on the sacred grounds of Donington Park, which have been associated with rock since the eighties. -

Youth Group Members
Epworth UMC October 2010 Student Ministry News Model healthy priorities and time management Last month, our back-to-school issue addressed stress and anxiety that teenagers face. Stress often results from out-of-whack priorities and poor time management—two areas many adults struggle with also. To gauge the priorities of Christian teenagers, Group Magazine surveyed 20,000 kids who represent a cross-section of youth group members. Although kids listed “praying and developing a relation- ship with God” as their top priority, youth leaders say kids’ actions don’t seem to back that up. “They’re so busy with school, work, sports, and so on—and their parents encourage it—that it seems the first things to get dropped are the items listed as priorities,” said a Pennsylvania youth leader. Kids’ crazy schedules get a lot of blame for their stress and upside-down priorities. But now some research says hyper-busyness isn’t necessarily a bad thing—as long as teenagers’ goals and activities are clear and harmonious. Psychology professor Robert Emmons found that health and quality of life suffer when young people have what he calls “conflicting strivings.” Teenagers whose activities revolve like spokes around a “hub” (such as faith in Christ) are likely to thrive. Emmons’ team discovered that kids who pursue many strivings that are all connected somehow to their spiritual commitments generally have less conflict among them. Because their day-to-day goals center around their faith in God, these young people experience more harmony in their life, less stress, and less illness. This issue of “The Parent Link” explores ways you can help kids—and yourself—keep priorities in line and wisely use God’s gift of time. -

Digging in and Rising up Creighton Healthcreighton Sciences Campus Message from the President
FALL 2019 • • 2019 FALL Volume 35 Issue 3 35 Issue Volume Digging In and Rising Up Creighton Health Sciences Campus Taking Form in Phoenix Message from the President Expanding Our Horizons Follow me: n September, we celebrated a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Creighton University Health Sciences – Phoenix Campus. @CreightonPres A wonderful complement to our outstanding health sciences CreightonPresident programs in Omaha, this campus, scheduled to open in fall 2021, will eventually serve as an educational hub for nearly 900 Creighton health professions students in Phoenix. Nearly 200 students are currently engaged in our established nursing and medical programs in the city. National data shows a critical shortage of health care professionals in the ISouthwest, and in Arizona and Phoenix, particularly. It is our hope and belief that a new generation of Creighton health professionals — educated in both Omaha and Phoenix — will help address this increasing demand, and do so in Creighton’s Jesuit, Catholic tradition of excellence in academics, clinical care, and service. I join with our Phoenix health care partners, community and government leaders, and organizations and individuals who offer their philanthropic support in expressing my excitement for this new campus and its possibilities. Closer to home, I am also pleased that our enrollment numbers remain robust, in light of an increasingly competitive national enrollment environment. We welcomed the third-largest freshman class this fall, with 1,076 students, to record our second-largest total enrollment of 8,821. Of note, our new physician assistant program is well subscribed, with 24 students. This fall, we also hosted our inaugural Mission Week on campus.
