I would like to point out some issues that are very important to me. #1- I actu- ally live in my district of Creole and have been there for over a year, like my opponent I received no insurance money or ICC, very little help from FEMA and what money I did receive from Road Home, just came in. After Hurricane Rita, my family and I lived in Lafayette until we could make living arrange- ments in Cameron Parish, this meant a two hour drive for us to attend meet- ings set forth by our school authorities and leaving at 5 a.m. in the morning for my children to attend school when South Cameron was reopened in Grand Lake and then a 2 hour drive back at night. We endured this because coming back HOME and back to South Cameron was the most important issue for my family. #2- I attend many school functions both academic and athletic. I did so even before my children became a part of many of these functions because I care about our school and plan on doing so for many years to come. I have three children in South Cameron and I truly care about the future of our school. #3- South Cameron is the lifeline to Creole, it is a vital part of this com- BRODNEY FARMER BRODNEY HUNTER or THE SUIT MAN munity and surrounding communities such as Grand Chenier and Cameron, %URGQH\ LV D ULFH IDUPHU FUDZ¿VK SURGXFHU FRPPHUFLDO VKULPSHU as many of us live here. Read my opponent’s campaign card it says “It is A VOTE FOR BRODNEY IS LIKE A VOTE FOR YOUSELF!!! a slow process, but were getting closer to coming to terms on what we can do and cannot do”. Sounds like to me that many more senior classes of South Cameron will have to graduate from these portable buildings. In the months after Hurricane Rita, I attended a meeting which former Superintendent Doug Chance and former Principal Dale Skinner arranged, according to them the plan was to have the newly consolidated school in place by 2009. We had two years for the thinking process to occur, it’s time to make something happen. Success is not accomplished through just thinking, but by taking action. I feel my opponent has forgotten the most important thing, the voices of our children, parents and teachers. A vote for me is a vote for you and your fam- ily to have a voice. I will listen to your concerns as parents, as we do have a lot in common - what is best for OUR children. My agenda is not a personal one, but one that will represent the wishes of the majority. I have an open door policy; feel free to talk to me when and where we meet. My cell phone num- ber is 513-9956, feel free to call anytime. Light-weight decoys are the trend, but some hunters will have up to a 100 decoys per pond while years ago hunters were satisfied to have three dozen decoys, but they set them out before day- light and picked them up after there hunt, where today decoys stay in the pond all through duck season. Then we have the electric duck that flaps it wings and swims and splashes water. However, the most effective duck decoy and duck caller were live decoys, which are now banned by law since 1935. Some hunters used these decoys for several years after the ban. I remember my grand- mother had about 20 or so English Callers with the chickens in a fenced-in area and lots of times we had regu- lar migratory ducks light in the pasture as these English Callers would lure them in. My grandmother would dare my uncle to use these English Callers for hunting. One day my uncle asked me to go hunting with him, but for me to catch 4 or 5 of these ducks, put them in a sack and be ready for the next morn- ing. Yes, I sneaked in and got 5 English Callers and yes we tied a string to one leg and also to a stake in the pond with the rest of the decoys. It did work, so not having a gun for myself, my uncle decided to let me shoot the next time ducks would come
