Performance standards are set by the C1ubs and. approved by the University Blues Committee. For Cricket, a FuIl BIue requires State representation whilst a HaIf Blue requires either 500 run or 50 wickets in the Club's highest team. Current student st,atus is also necessary. The award is presented to a leading Club Administrator for service over and, beyond that normally expected. Cricket Club members who have received this award are: 1985 A. Mahoney CLUB OF THE YEAR AWARD Bob Symonds o$tner of McDonalds Macquarie Centre initiated 'The Club of the Year' award in L989 with a shield and a cheque for $500 to the most worthy Sporting Club. The 1990 Club of the Year winner was the Cricket Club. 6 PRESIDENT'S REPORT What is 60 centimetres tatt, has two handles and weighs a ton? If you don't know, then have a look ín the trophy cabinet next time you are down at the Barclay Pavilion. The Club Championship win rates as one of our more memorable achievements. Congràtulations to everyone who played and contributed to the perfor¡nances of all four teams. Individual efforts are acknowledged in the Captain's Reports as are the match results and CLub Records. I'ihat is not adequately acknowledged is the efforts of our Secretary (Dr-. Jurd), Treasurer (S. O'neilly), Clubman (K. v{iblin) and other members of our hard working Committee. Nor are the herculean efforts of the Captains, whose ènthusiasm, leadership and organisational skil-Is were outstanding. I would like to thank them all. Last season btas memorable for several other outstand.ing achievements. These brere the UK Tour, the appointment of a player/coach, the fact that several players passed sj-gnificant cfub milestones, and the winning of MUSATs Club of the Year Award. The tast of the touring party arrived back home in time for the first round. Their photos, stories and off-field antics have been tolerated by t.he rest of the Club, but onlv a few of the tourists have risen to legendary status. Their on- f ield performances, especially in A Grade, have further highli ghted. the successful nature of the tour. The Club was very fort.unate to have solicj-ted the services of one Greg Gavin, Greg's record as an ex-first Grade player with peniitfr along with his undoubted love of the game ensured he had the respect, not only of A Grade but, of the whole Club. He led A Grad,e tó its first finals appearance and contributed significantly throughout the season with four centuries, an aggregate of 634 runs (av. 90.57) and ten catches. Both A1 Mahoney and Chris Welsby joined Roy Denlow in the elite '2OO ' games club. Their effort.s have been well documented and their þerformances are listed later on. Along with Bill Congreve, Steve O'neilly and Craig Edwards who all smashed through the 100 games barrier, the Cl-ub would like to saLute these players_and wisfr them many more runs, catches, bruises and wickets. Also worthy of mention is l{arrick Folkard. who was a recipient of a MUSA CLub Colour at the recent Sports Association AnnuaL Dinner, iD confirmation of his years of service to the Cricket CIub. In recognition of the effj-ciency of our Committee the Sports Association judged MUCC to be 'Club of the Year' for 1990. This is a tremendous honour bestowed upon the CLub and I would again like to express my gratitude to the Committee for their outstanding service throughout the season. f woul-d like to acknowledge the assistance offered by the MUSA staff and groundsmen over the past year. Anton was again our Trivia Master and as usual he excel_led in all_ information insignificant, inconsequential, and damn right impossible. Thanks Anton Keeping on things 'social', the CIub would like to wish BiLI and PauLine Yeo aII the best, with their impending parenthood. As well we congratulate Ken Dixon and Kathy Texas on their engagement and future p1ans. Following the undoubted success of lasÈ season we can only look forward to achÍeving our next aim and that is consistency. If all players exhibit the same enthusiasm and. desire to excel then we will indeed emulate last season's performances. If we are to improve and have the four teams make the finals then we must look to make changes. These changes can only come from the individual. An examp le of such ehanges would be: (a) a change in attitud.e to training (b) the level of participation at trai-ning (c) level of fitness (d) punctuality This short list is only meant to prompt you Ínto thinking about your game and, also about how we can generate improvements on what was a good season. Finally the CIub is looking to expand over the next two seasons. Efforts will be made to field a Womenrs X1 as well- as establishing a fifth men's X1. The Committee feel it is vital to cater for the growing student interest in the game and look forward to welcoming new players at all levels down to the Club.

    CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY POSTAL AUCTION FRIDAY 19th MARCH 2021 Part of Lot 344 CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY POSTAL AUCTION CLOSING AT NOON 19th MARCH 2021 Conditions of Postal Sale The CMS reserves the right to refuse items which are damaged or unsuitable, or we have doubts about authenticity. Reserves can be placed on lots but must be agreed with the CMS. They should reflect realistic values/expectations and not be the “highest price” expected. The CMS will take 7% of the price realised, the vendor 93% which will normally be paid no later than 6 weeks after the auction. The CMS will undertake to advertise the memorabilia for auction on its website no later than 3 weeks prior to the closing date of the auction. Bids will only be accepted from CMS members. Postal bids must be in writing or e-mail by the closing date and time shown above. Generally, no item will be sold below 10% of the lower estimate without reference to the vendor. Thus, an item with a £10-15 estimate can be sold for £9, but not £8, without approval. The incremental scale for the acceptance of bids is as follows: £2 increments up to £20, then £20/22/25/28/30 up to £50, then £5 increments to £100 and £10 increments above that. So, if there are two postal bids at £25 and £30, the item will go to the higher bidder at £28. Should there be two identical bids, the first received will win. Bids submitted between increments will be accepted, thus a £52 bid will not be rounded either up or down.

    CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY POSTAL AUCTION FRIDAY 9th JULY 2021 Lot 345 1 CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY POSTAL AUCTION CLOSING AT NOON 9th JULY 2021 Conditions of Postal Sale The CMS reserves the right to refuse items which are damaged or unsuitable, or we have doubts about authenticity. Reserves can be placed on lots but must be agreed with the CMS. They should reflect realistic values/expectations and not be the “highest price” expected. The CMS will take 7% of the price realised, the vendor 93% which will normally be paid no later than 6 weeks after the auction. The CMS will undertake to advertise the memorabilia for auction on its website no later than 3 weeks prior to the closing date of the auction. Bids will only be accepted from CMS members. Postal bids must be in writing or e-mail by the closing date and time shown above. Generally, no item will be sold below 10% of the lower estimate without reference to the vendor. Thus, an item with a £10-15 estimate can be sold for £9, but not £8, without approval. The incremental scale for the acceptance of bids is as follows: £2 increments up to £20, then £20/22/25/28/30 up to £50, then £5 increments to £100 and £10 increments above that. So, if there are two postal bids at £25 and £30, the item will go to the higher bidder at £28. Should there be two identical bids, the first received will win. Bids submitted between increments will be accepted, thus a £52 bid will not be rounded either up or down.
