Contribution to No. of health-care departments affected by modernized equipment: 9 indicators Population having access to improved health services: 700,000 The PPs wish to address the following challenges in the eligible area:  limited emergency medical services and lack of telemedicine infrastructure  demand for a cross-border learning and research center  Inequalities in medical services between the two counties

The project’s main activities are: Summary  building two emergency medical centers in the mountain area of Bihor County: Padis plateau and Stana de Vale resort (LB);  establishing a modern physical medicine and rehabilitation center, by endowing the existent healthcare unit in Berettyóújfalu with modern equipment, used in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PP2);  improving the emergency health care services in Oradea and its surroundings, by purchasing modern equipment for Dr. Gavril Curteanu Municipal Hospital and County Clinical Emergency Hospital of Oradea,

including an ambulance and a SPECT CT and an ANGIO CT used in the diagnosis and treatment of oncological affections; furthermore, establishing an inter-hospital telemedicine system that will connect hospitals in Oradea, Alesd, Salonta, Marghita and Beius in one standardized data transmission and reception system (PP3);  equipping the local hospitals with modern digital radiography and echography devices and interconnecting the hospitals to the ones in Oradea (PP4, PP5, PP6, PP7);  establishing a cross-border medical training center, with the purpose of offering quality medical trainings, in the majority of medical disciplines, focusing however on emergency medicine and oncology: constructing a medical training center in Oradea, Nicolae Jiga 29 street. (PP8).

Main expected results of the project are the following:  more than 700,000 people benefitting from quality medical services  9 medical centers and departments equipped with modern medical devices  Improved E-health system  Efficient Telemedicine system established  Cross-border medical training center founded.
