In Stock – The Bookman by Lavie Tidhar (ISBN 9780857665973 $9.99)

In a 19th century unlike our own, the shadowy assassin known as the Bookman moves unseen. His weapons are books; his enemies are many. And when Orphan, a young man with a mysterious past, loses his love to the sinister machinations of the Bookman, Orphan would stop at nothing to bring her back from the dead.

In The Bookman, World Fantasy Award winner Lavie Tidhar writes a love letter to books, and to the serial literature of the Victorian era: full of hair-breadth escapes and derring-dos, pirates and automatons, assassins and poets, a world in which real life authors mingle freely with their fictional creations – and where nothing is quite as it seems.

Smoke by Dan Vyleta (ISBN 9780385540162 $27.95)

England. A century ago, give or take a few years.

An England where people who are wicked in thought or deed are marked by the Smoke that pours forth from their bodies, a sign of their fallen state. The aristocracy do not smoke, proof of their virtue and right to rule, while the lower classes are drenched in sin and soot. An England utterly strange and utterly real.

An elite boarding school where the sons of the wealthy are groomed to take power as their birthright. Teachers with mysterious ties to warring political factions at the highest levels of government. Three young people who learn everything they’ve been taught is a lie—knowledge that could cost them their lives. A grand estate where secrets lurk in attic rooms and hidden laboratories. A love triangle. A desperate chase. Revolutionaries and secret police. Religious fanatics and coldhearted scientists. Murder. A London filled with danger and wonder. A tortured relationship between a mother and a daughter, and a mother and a son. Unexpected villains and unexpected heroes. Cool reason versus passion. Rich versus poor. Right versus wrong, though which is which isn’t clear.

This is the world of Smoke, a narrative tour de force, a tale of Dickensian intricacy and ferocious imaginative power, richly atmospheric and intensely suspenseful.

On January 20, 2017, on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., a tall, orange man with a dubious hairline places his hand on a paperback of The Art of the Deal and pledges to defend the Constitution of the United States, whatever that is. Before the sun sets on this hugely momentous day, the real-estate mogul-turned-reality show star-turned-leader of the hypothetically Free World reclines in the Oval Office, a glass of Trump Ice in his little hand. He Skypes in with his BFF Vladimir Putin; assembles his Cabinet and White House staff, including a former Miss Universe as chief of staff; and procures some sizzling new lingerie for the new First Lady. Two years later, as the increasingly ironically named United States of America barrels toward war with the United Kingdom, and the never-quite-finished Mexican wall is continually breached by refugees (risking their lives to get to Mexico), disgraced ex-tabloid reporter Jimmie Bernwood drags himself through his days freelancing for chump change...until The Donald plucks him from the depths of despair. Jimmie becomes the president’s official biographer, giving him enviable access to the gold-plated Trump White House and all of its secrets.

Fight Club 2 will be available exclusively as a Graphic Novel! Some imaginary friends never go away…

Ten years after starting Project Mayhem, he lives a mundane life. A kid, a wife. Pills to keep his destiny at bay. But it won’t last long, the wife has seen to that. He’s back where he started, but this go-round he’s got more at stake than his own life. The time has arrived…Rize or Die.

New York Tomes bestselling novelist Chuck Palahniuk and acclaimed artist Cameron Stewart have collaborated for one of the most highly anticipated comic book and literary events of 2015—the return of Tyler Durden. The first rule of Fight Club 2 might be not to talk about it, but Fight Club 2 is generating international headlines and will introduce a new generation of readers to Project Mayhem.

Praise for the comics that comprise Fight Club 2: “At turns deeply poignant and very funny; Palahniuk’s freakish fables capture a twisted zeitgeist and add an oddly inspirational and subversive voice to the contemporary canon…. In the post-9/11 present, a hyperactive, Internet- obsessed, war- and recession-weary America apparently needs Tyler again.”—THE ATLANTIC

“The book is fantastic, my highest recommendation…. Excellent work by Cameron Stewart and David Mack, and by our awesome friends at .”—

“If Tyler Durden needed a resurgence, there’s no time like the present for his return… Fight Club 2 is a comic that taps back into everything great about the source material, and one that makes Tyler Durden’s warm nihilistic embrace a welcome draw back into a familiar world of cynicism, violence, and anarchy….“Tyler Lives,” and I couldn’t be happier by the prospect of more bedlam.”—NEWSARAMA “Palahniuk is delivering a worthy sequel to his most beloved story.”—THE NERDIST “An amazing piece of work. You do not want to miss out on this.”—COMICVINE “We have a worthy sequel on our hands…. A must read.” —COMICOSITY “Clever and beautiful.” —COMICS ALLIANCE
