Day 02 KUTA / BEDUGUL / LOVINA (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) After breakfast, start the day heading north to Bedugul, a mountain resort that lies over 1,000 meters above sea level and end at Lake Bratan, the crater-lake of Mount Bratan. Situated on the shores of Lake Bratan is Pura Ulun Danu Bratan which was built in 1926 and is dedicated to Dewi Batari Ulun Danu, goddess of lakes and rivers. Thereafter, continue on to Lovina, a coastal area on the Northwestern side of Bali Island and along the way, enjoy a photo stop at Wanagiri Hidden Hill, a popular selfie and “Instagram-able” spot at the northern part of the island that features a series of whimsical vantage points over Lake Tamblingan and Lake Buyan. Day 03 LOVINA / TABANAN / TANAH LOT / KUTA (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Before dawn, board a traditional outrigger boat in search of a glimpse of pods of wild dolphins frolicking in their natural habitat while welcoming the marvellous sunrise (subject to weather conditions). After breakfast, embark on your south bound journey back to Kuta with a brief stop along the way at a magnificent temple called Vihara Dharma Giri in Tabanan Regency where there is a beautifully fashioned pearl white Sleeping Buddha Statue set in a tranquil backdrop of blue sky and green forest. After lunch, continue on to the spectacular Tanah Lot Temple. It is built on a small rocky island known as "Tanah Lot" which means "The Land in the Middle of the Sea". Here, when weather permits, you will be able to see Bali's most beautiful sunset. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing BBQ dinner of fresh seafood on the beach at Jimbaran Bay. Day 04 KUTA / TANJUNG BENOA / UBUD / KUTA (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) After breakfast, head over to Tanjung Benoa to enjoy exciting sea sport activities (optional, at your own expenses) such as snorkelling, parasailing, etc…; followed by a visit to Water Blow for a chance to witness the awesome power of nature as large waves from the Indian Ocean constantly crash against the jagged limestone edges on the peninsula’s south-eastern cliff to produce a massive surge of water up to 30-meter high from its base. Thereafter, continue on to Ubud, the famous centre of arts and the cultural heartland of Bali. This is an excellent way to understand the Balinese art and culture. You’ll get to see the hand-made Batik paintings, the Village of Celuk - the home of gold and silversmiths and the Village of Mas which is famous for its fine woodcarving. So warm was the welcome from the local ruler, so abundant the hospitality of the local populace, that many of Houtman's crew refused to leave; it took him two years to round up enough crewmen to sail back to Holland. It took almost another three and a half centuries fo. the rest of the world to make good Houtman's discovery. Today, a bare fifty years since the word got out, Bali suffers from an annual tourist invasion so immense, so rapacious, it threatens the island's traditional culture With complete suffocation. Today, tourist arrivals total around 850,000. By 1986 the numbers are expected to. top 750,000. Not lon afterwards, the Balinese will be playing host to almest a million tourists a year. This on an island of only 5,682 square kilometers" (2,095square miles) with a resident populat$on of almost three million. As Houtman and others found out,_ Bali is unique. I the fifteenth century before the first known Western contact, Bali had been the on-aain, off-again vassal of eastern lava's Majapahit empire. By the sixteenth century, however, Majapahit was decaying and finally fell under the advanci.ng scourge of Islam.
