Margaret Busse, Executive Director, Department of Commerce, presented on the matter.

The committee asked questions of the presenters.

The meeting was opened to public comment.

Rep. Norman K. Thurston commented on the issue.

Online commenters could not be heard due to room speaker issues.

Rosemary Gutierrez, Transcend Together, commented in support of reviewing the licensing process to make it easier to gain licensure.

Chair Ferry attempted to connect with the online commenters, but the technology issue persisted. Chair Ferry and Senator Bramble made closing comments.

Benn Buys, Audit Manager, and Jake Dinsdale, Senior Audit Supervisor, Office of the Legislative Auditor General, presented on the audit performed on the Division of Consumer Protection and the audit's recommendations.

The committee asked questions of Benn Buys and Jake Dinsdale.

6 . Proposal for Systematic Licensure Review Process

Chair Ferry opened the meeting to public comment for those online who could not speak on this item initially due to technical issues.

Michelle McOmber, spoke in favor of making the licensing process easier and stressed the importance of having an independent review committee as part of the process.
