The Association donated the items to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, and they were formally accessioned in 2016. The photograph of HERCULES in Seattle was received in a frame with the following information handwritten on the backing: "To: Dad. From: Bud. April 1995." (Note: The frame was discarded. See the collection file for a scanned copy of the backing.) Historical or Biographical Note This collection does not include a historical or biographical note. P16-015 (SAFR 24851) 2 Contains 2 black-and-white photographic prints of HERCULES (built 1907; tugboat) and her sister ship GOLIAH (built 1907; tugboat). Item list: 1. Goliah (built 1907; tugboat) and Hercules (built 1907; tugboat) alongside a pier in San Francisco, California, 1908. 1 black-and-white photographic print, 4 x 5 in. Bow view of the vessels. GOLIAH is on the left, and HERCULES is on the right next to what appears to be the S.F. Bay Improvement Co. pier. There is a smaller sign on the pier for Napa Gravel & Material Co. 2. Hercules (built 1907; tugboat) underway, port broadside view, in Elliot Bay, Seattle, Washington, 1908. 1 black-and-white photographic copy print, 8 x 10 in. "To Dan. From his Old Shipmate Bert" was inscribed on the original image. "D. Hopkins Collection" is handwritten on the verso of the print.
